Polite – Ever since she was young, Ada was thought by her parents to be polite to others. She harbored the trait in showing good manners and respect to the people she meet. Many times she was praised of her kindness and gentle nature which she humbly thanked them. Never did Ada let their compliments get to her head and continues to be a compassionate person as she is.

Forgiving – Ada is very forgiving. No matter how many times she was hurt or lied to, Ada will always give a smile and forgive others. She was not the kind of girl who will judge a person just because of gossip or saying of others. She knew how people often twist their words to adapt to their own perspective upon an individual.

Faithful – Ada is loyal as she loves her family and friends very much and trusts them whole heartedly. Dedicated to what is right and determined to help those in need. She tries to be open-minded as possible for her to adopt this ever changing world but still, she holds her own beliefs very strong. Ada is obedient to her parents and a loving sister to her older siblings.

Soft spoken – Most impression of people towards Ada is shy due to her soft voice. During her childhood, she was the shiest among her siblings when it comes to meeting other individuals. Yet once she’s comfortable enough Ada shows her energetic side. She tends not to speak up very well at first, depending on the situation at hand. She may be quiet most of the time since she didn’t want to disturb other people’s conversations.

Fanatic – Like any other fangirl, Ada is an avid fan of any her favorite shows, books and many more. Her loves everything or anything related to magic, sorcery, enchantment, fantasy, fairytales, ghosts, and occult. She has many different fandoms like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and etc. She even cosplays a lot. Her family may had found it a little obsessive or creepy when they found at the basement of their house a few medieval torture devices.

Meddlesome – There are times that Ada couldn’t help herself to meddle other people’s problems. Involving herself to the concerns of others she doesn’t necessary to do so. She was only trying to help in her own way or power to ease their burdens. She goes to lengths on research and investigative kind of behaviour just to support them.

Bio: 

Big brother. Big brother. Those two words were her first words when she was an infact. Her mother and father found it cute that their youngest daughter called out for her big brother. It never occurred to Ada why those were the words she said when her parents told her stories when she was a little girl. How much she recalls her childhood is what she was trying to do since her dreams became vivid day by day.

Ada was raised and love by her loving family. Neither they’re rich or poor as they’re just a simple moderate family household. Her father works for an airline company as an engineer. As the head of the family, he tends to be busy but still he tries to spend as much as he can with his family. Her mother works as a nurse at a local hospital in the city. Ada was proud of her mother saving and supporting a lot of lives when she watched her from time to time during her visits. Both of her older siblings now have their family of their own. They still often see each other since her big brother offered her a part time job at Reveille National Museum and her big sister asked her to come by and help at the orphanage if she wanted to.

Ada never felt alone when both her parents were busy at work and her siblings away with their own family. Her pet cats gave her company. Her father bought them when they went to a pet store. Her eyes instantly found three little kittens; gray, white and black. It was as if she was in a daze when she kept staring at the felines. Ada named them each unconsciously as Dinah, Snowdrop and Kitty. The names stuck to each kitten as they responded to her call, leaving her father no choice but to buy all three.

While studying, Ada took up various of hobbies like playing the piano, embroidery, fencing (just recently since there was this one time when she dreamt she was holding a sword.) and doll making. Now she is a college student at Latowidge, taking up a tourism degree majoring in Culture and Heritage Management. Ever since they had moved to Reveille when she was eight, the nostalgic essence of the city had caught her interests.

Roleplay sample: 

“Onii-chan! Onii-chan!” Ada waved towards her brother bringing him lunch that was specially made by her. She heard a tired sigh coming out of his mouth. “Why do you even call me that Ada? We’re not even Japanese..” Her big brother said when he gratefully took the lunch box that she gave to him.

“But it’s cute!” Ever since she had watched a few anime and drama, Ada had been taking notes of the words she had learned. She wanted to learn another language even if it’s just a few words. Soft fit of giggles escaped the blonde’s lip when she saw her brother’s embarrassed state. Not wanting to be teased any longer, her brother usher her to start her duties in the museum. Happily oblige his orders; Ada almost skipped her way to each area of the museum. One of her duties was to make sure everything was in order and each artefact were in its place before she starts her guiding tour around  the establishment to the tourists.

It was normal for her to hear the different conversations of people during her rounds. The click of her heels was heard when she walked to an empty room. Only the paintings as her company, her steps slowed, enjoying the fact that this is the room where they kept the paintings that portrayed witchcraft and medieval era. Her hands clasped to together, standing in front of The Salem Witch Hunting painting. Minutes passed. Laughter was heard inside the room. Turning her gaze away from the painting, Ada saw no one inside. She was all alone.

“Hello?” She asked.

The laughter continued followed by soft voices. Ada blinks. One. Two. Three. The room was now occupied by two other individuals. Standing frozen in her place, Ada saw a girl who looks exactly like her. A young maiden with the same golden blonde hair and emerald eyes except her clothes were different. The other was wearing a beautiful green Victorian like dress. Her other self has a companion with her however his image was a blur to Ada’s own eyes.

“Excuse me,” she tried to move closer to them the two vanished when her brother came in to collect her. “Ada your tour group is finally ready in the lobby.” Her brother told her before leaving again to start his work.

“I-I’m coming!” Hurriedly she followed right behind him. Looking back to the room where she saw her vision. “Another dream…” She whispered. It is must be one of her dreams. This dream, this time she was awake when she saw it.

Character’s Name: Xerxes Break Age and birthday: 26, September 30th Occupation: Officially, he’s a criminal profiler, but he tends to involve himself in other sorts of detective/police work too. Everyone he works with hates it, including literally every single person higher up than he is, but he’s also sort of really good at what he does. Break’s employment is a touchy subject for everyone around him. He’s also a bit of a vigilante, which he’s done a very good job of not letting anyone he works with find out yet. Because that would get him fired for sure, right? Location: He lives in Reveille, in a very small apartment that only has three rooms, although they’re all decently sized. His foster caretaker often worries about him, offering that he can always just move back in with her, but he assures her that it’s fine. It’s sort of nice living in a smaller place for once. Nationality: No one’s quite sure. He’s certainly pale enough to be of some sort of European descent, but he’s the sort of guy that seems like he’d sort of fit in anywhere. He likes to think of himself as European, specifically English, as lots of his favorite literature comes from that area of the world.

Smart: Break was always quick to figure things out, whether it’s some sort of crime, where a missing object wound up, the plot of a book, or anything else. His smarts have gotten him pretty far in life. He would have been a straight A student in high school if not for the fact that most things taught in the regular school curriculum were more than boring to him. Because of that, he tended to slack off at some points. He’d refuse to hand in homework, get scolded by the teachers, and then proceed to ace every test. I mean, who does’t know how to name every bone in the human body in order? Thankfully, once he got into what he considered to be real education, his participation got considerably better. And, eventually, those good old smarts of his landed him a nice, good job in an area he absolutely adores; an area that needs smart guys like him.

Inquisitive: Break is very curious about a lot of things. His own past, for one; aspects of crimes that aren’t necessarily essential in cracking a case and imprisoning the baddie. This often leads to new ways of thinking that others hadn’t considered, new evidence in cases, and really just learning more about everything in general. His curiosity also leads him to have some rather strange beliefs about life in general, as well as his place on this earth. Why was I lead to these people, he wonders sometimes… Why do the strangest of things seem so familiar to me? Did I know something like this before? But that would have been impossible. I mean, why would he know so much about swords at the age of five? The belief in past lives interests him greatly, and while he knows that it’s near impossible, he spends a lot of his time pondering about it.

Manipulative/Good at pushing buttons: While any normal person would consider these things to be solely negative, Break manages to do a lot of good with these abilities. For one, it makes it very easy for him to get the answers he wants out of people, which is especially important when anyone that poses a threat to Break’s makeshift family is involved. He tends to protect the people he love with these skills, whether they know about it or not. It, of course, also does him a lot of good in his job. To catch a criminal, you often need to think like a criminal, and let me tell ya. Break’s pretty good at that.

Three (or more) negative traits and 4-8 sentences of explanation:

Stubborn: While a majority of his stubbornness is part of the elaborate act that makes up his unique personality, it’s also a danger to himself (and arguably, to those around him) at times. It’s rare for him to inform his “mother” when there’s something wrong in his life, whether it’s something to do with his job, health, or anything that involves solely him. If he were to suddenly lose his job, he would’t tell her. No need to make her worry. He’d just go searching for a new one, giving excuses here and there as to why things seem a little off, all smiles as usual. Going blind? Not a problem. He knows his way around. Really, it’s fine. Everything is fine. He refuses to ask for help when he needs it, often denying his own incapabilities to himself.

Inquisitive: Break’s curiosity isn’t solely a good quality. It gets him in to trouble more than often, and some might consider that it does more bad than good in his case. His need to know all of the answers doesn’t always get him into the best of situations. Thankfully, he knows his way around a street fight or two, despite the fact that he can’t remember where he learned to fight like that. Especially in that style. Maybe he should invest in some sort of cane to start swinging at people in defense instead of stumbling around looking for the nearest branch or broomstick to use instead. Actually… nah. He can’t just be handing out hints about his loss of one of his senses, right?

Suspicious/Twisted: His strange habits and personality were always a problem, even as a child. Teachers and onlooking parents would be concerned about his mental being. Other kids thought it strange and unsettling that he talked loudly and openly to a doll that could have been straight from some sort of horror film. He’s been labeled many things in his life. Deranged, unstable, sociopathic, schizophrenic, and so on. Whether he really is any of those things? It’s likely we’ll never know. And with the way he is, it isn’t uncommon for Break to wind up in a holding cell, suspected of a crime he was investigating before someone who recognizes him realizes the mistake.

Easy to bore/The enjoyment of causing others to experience certain emotions/reactions such as confusion, frustration, embarrassment, etc: While becoming bored easily is not a direct problem, the behavior that Break often chooses to follow this by is what really causes trouble. He often begins to bother others when he’s bored, and depending on who the subject is, it can cause some real problems for others. For example, he enjoys seeing people think, and depending on a person’s temper and personality, this doesn’t always end well when you take into consideration his riddle-y way of explaining things and dropping hints. Seeing (or technically, mostly hearing) people confused and frustrated by his speech patterns and general personality is just divine. And while it’s rare for him to warm up to someone, if he ever does, it’s awfully fun seeing the aforementioned person.

Sweet tooth: His sweets addiction may seem like a problem free craving, and he certainly thinks of it that way, but it’s bad news for anyone within a mile radius who happens to like sweet things as well. It’s almost dangerous to tell Break when the rations of candy and little cakes are restored, and even if you manage to keep this from him, it’s only a matter of time before he finds out and drinks them dry. A good lot of his salary goes to feeding this addiction of his, too, which is never a good thing. He could be saving up for something that he doesn’t devour in a matter of seconds, but instead… you get the idea.

Bio (at least three paragraphs, include what the character is doing at the moment):

Found in a rather unruly state by an elderly woman when he was about six, Break is unsure of his life before that. Just that his “mother” found him with a white, cloudy left eye that didn’t have a single trace of sight left in it. Thinking about his past too much tends to give him severe migraines and unsettling visions that come to him in his dreams. Perhaps memories, he thought at first, but as some of the scenes depict him at ages older than six in a strange, confusing reality, it’s likely that they’re only that. Visions; delusions and obscure thoughts and suspicions about himself and his life born from his inability to let that six year memory gap go and live a happy life. 

While he was essentially adopted, he doesn’t necessarily take the role of of a son. Ever since he was about twelve, he took to the habit of calling his caretaker “milady”. Having a parent seems strange to him, somehow; foreign. Seeing other kids with adult caretakers is fine. Everyone else looks so natural, even that one adopted kid down the street, but Break? It just seems too good to be entirely true. Like some kind of fleeting dream.

Break works locally as a criminal profiler, and a little more than that on occasion. If you were to ask him to specifically state what he does for a living, the chance of getting a straight answer is incredibly slim. He spent a large amount of his time reading. Classics, mostly. Some Huckleberry Finn here, some of Steinbeck’s works there. His favorite, though, has always been Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and it’s wonderful sequel. He has them memorized almost word for word. But now, well.

He’s been going blind for a long time now. Maybe about seven months at this point. It’s progressed quicker than anyone would ever think, especially considering his age, and it’s to the point where all he can really see are blurs of color and the vague shape of objects. He has yet to tell his foster mother about this. It’s fine. He’s fine. It’s really no big deal. He’s only told a few people at work about this so they can give him important details about suspects and criminals that he might need to know about, and he demands that those few people tell no one and treat him the same as before. And, really, it’s too hard for his coworkers to do that for him. It’s almost hard for them to believe that his vision is impaired at all with the way he acts and navigates.

It isn’t rare to see him with one of his books now, anyway, usually while listening to an MP3 player equipped with the audio versions while doing so. But, of course, if you ask him about it, he’ll tell you he’s listening to some classic music. How wonderfully Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata goes with this chapter! And how perfectly Chopin’s Funeral March matches the setting the characters find themselves in at this point of the plot!

Roleplay sample (at least 2 paragraphs, IC, third person):

How long had it been now? Months, at the very least. But it seemed longer than that. Much longer. Although, maybe that wasn’t quite the word he meant it to be. It felt like he’d been like this more than the few months he had been, yes, but the handicap, something that surely must have been a serious and devastating affliction to overcome for most people, seemed almost familiar to him somehow. Like he’d been through this before, or something of that sort. An impossible feat, of course, but an equally impossible feeling to shake. The same way he knows his way around a sword even though he’s only touched one once, maybe twice in his life.

It was just all too natural to him, once his remaining sight started to fade. In some ways, it was almost easier to see things than before. His other senses heightened quicker than he’d thought they would. Within days he was navigating better than he ever could have dreamed. For once, he recovered himself before that pesky cat could trip him on his way to work. He finds his way to his office in record time, too. Or, he assumes he does, anyway. It feels like he does, despite the fact that the numbers displayed on the front screen of his phone are impossible to decipher.

So maybe this is how he was always supposed to be, he wonders vaguely to himself as he sits at his desk that morning. After all, he was found with one blind eye, wasn’t he? So if the sight in his other eye fades away completely, so be it. He feels a light smile come to his face as he thinks about that, kicking his feet up to lay across his desk. (And was that the sound of someone scowling from the hallway?) Any normal person was sure to be concerned at all of this happening to them, especially so quickly, but for Break, it was sort of… what’s the word he was looking for? A relief? But that wasn’t quite it either. It just sort of felt like, well. It felt like he was finally who he was supposed to be.

Charming - Sharon is quite the young lady, as is traditional of all Rainsworth woman. From a young age her mother taught her to be kind and courteous to others, especially to those close to her. She has a way of charming people she meets, which, of course, she uses to her advantage, as any Rainsworth woman would. She’s particularly good at it too, and considers it her best trait of hers.

Intelligent - While Sharon seems like the prime example of a perfect lady there’s much more to her than meets the eye.  She’s incredibly smart and cunning. She was enrolled in the best schools and had high grades, which was mostly due to her hard work.  She knows the right people, how to get the right connections, and can come on top of any social situation. She can manipulate others to reach a desired outcome, which is anything in her favor.

Cheerful - Above all else, Sharon is a very cheerful person. As a kid she was always running around making friends and dragging them to pick flowers or play knights and princesses (in which she took turns being the knight and the princess) with her. Now as an adult she’s much more subdued, but still very much the same, keeping a happy disposition in any situation. She stays calm and collected, always with a smile on her face, even when things aren’t going so well. She still enjoys being with friends, though she’s not as energetic now as when she was a kid (although she still likes to go out and collect flowers once in a while).

Stubborn - When something is set in Sharon’s mind there’s no stopping her from achieving that goal. Whether its striking a business deal, getting a good grade on a project, or getting a friend to try on a cute dress, she will go above and beyond to get what she wants. While this can be a good thing, it’s also a negative because it makes it harder to cut her losses over something. It can be over an argument with a friend, or trying to do too many things at once, or simply giving up something she can’t accomplish.

Strong temper - It’s hard for Sharon to get angry, and even when she does she hides what she’s feeling behind a smile in an attempt to remain polite. When she does get mad though, you better get on your knees and beg for mercy. Sharon has been known to whack her friends upside the head when they tick her off. This is rare of her though, and she’s more likely  to give you a look that has chills climbing up your back and lets you know that she’s plotting your downfall, which is much worse.

Perfectionist - Sharon likes things to be done right. This means staying up until 3 in the morning trying to get the final touches done on a paper or a project of some sort. She works very hard to get everything the way she wants it to be, and won’t stop working until it’s just right. Unfortunately, this can lead to her overworking herself, which causes her to collapse  from exhaustion, which happens often. Her mother used to keep an eye out on her when she got in one of these moods to make sure she was taking care of herself properly.

Bio (at least three paragraphs, include what the character is doing at the moment):

Sharon grew up as a member of the Rainsworth family, an extremely large, extremely wealthy family, that deals in tea and other related items. She was born to one of the more extended part, one less in the spotlight, but is trying to gain her way into the wealthier circle.

Her father having left when she was a baby, she was raised by her mother and a few distant family members. They lived in a moderately sized house, using the bulk of their funds to send Sharon to the best schools they could. She worked hard to make her mother happy, and to become “the perfect Rainsworth woman” just like her mother. Her mother was always sickly however, and passed away from breast cancer around the time Sharon turned 19. After that Sharon went through a rough year, during which she starting seeing shadows moving in strange ways around her, as if they were calling to her. But she made it through, and vowed that she would work hard to become the face of the Rainsworth family. Although sometimes, she still sees strange shadows, and claims that they are calling out to her…

Sharon is now 20 years old, and had recently moved to Reveille to open up a cafe, called “Wonderland Tea Parties.” This is mostly a font, something to help her as she gets more involved with the nobles and other high class citizens in the area. She’s also going through college to earn a business degree in order to expand the Rainsworth business someday.

Life is going well for her right now, and she’s confident that it’s only going to get better.

Roleplay sample (at least 2 paragraphs, IC, third person):

When Sharon finally looks up from her laptop, the world around her had gotten dark.

She started on her paper right after dinner, quickly grabbing a bite at one of the nearby grocery stores and eating as quickly as she could without choking. And really, it was her fault for waiting so long to get this done in the first place. With working the cafe and working with grandmother, she’d been too busy to write her paper until the day before it was due.

She sighs, shutting the laptop close and rubbing at her eyes. Exactly how long had she been working on this? It was pitch black outside, and she hadn’t even noticed the change from day to night. On instinct, she grabs her phone and turns it on. The clock reads 2:47 AM, which means she’s been working on this paper for over 5 hours now.

After a moment’s pause she unlocks her phone, and reveals the background - a picture of her and several friends at the opening of her cafe. She gives a soft sigh, lying her head down on the table. She considers texting one of them, but at this early in the morning all sensible people would be asleep. Not that she wasn’t sensible. Well, mostly.

Something in the corner of her eyes catches her eyes, and she attention shifts to the corner of her room, where there’s a single lamp casting a shadow onto the wall behind her. As she watches the shadow moves, bending and twisting in an unnatural way.

Sharon shudders, ignoring the way it seems to draw her in, and turns her head away. Shadows moving is probably a huge sign that she’s too tired to work anymore. At least, that what she tries telling herself.

With a final, sullen sigh, she removes herself from her desk and flops down onto her bed, face first. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for her, and she better get as much sleep as she can. Her final thought, before she finally drifts off into sleep, is of a strange yet familiar voice saying, “Good night, milady.”

Ebullient: Perhaps contrary to his work, a silent and solemn exercise, Jack himself remains quite vocal. Always quick with a smile and peal of lilting laughter, the glass blower appears nothing short of thrilled to those

surrounding him. Wherever he goes, he carries his sunny disposition in his pocket and will not hesitate to share it with others; whether or not they actually want to partake in his merriment is a different story altogether.

Charismatic: Jack’s unconventional approach to the world and thirst for freedom could prove off-putting for some, but he holds an admirable sway over most who cross his path. Perhaps he sparks some curiosity in them. Maybe he draws in those around him with his seemingly endless charm.

Regardless of one’s individual reasons for pursuing the fascination ignited by Jack’s presence, underestimating the influence and bizarre loyalty he no doubt inspires in others would be a mistake.

Freethinking: True to the stereotype of the ‘free spirited artist,’ Jack sorely dislikes living according to another’s terms. Anyone seeking to constrain his way of life will be met with staunch resistance, and it is one of the few opportunities one might have to see beneath his typically jovial demeanor.

Whatever Jack wishes to do he does, and whenever he wishes to leave he goes. Some might be quick to think Jack flippant, but what (or who) the glassblower invests himself in he’s certain to take seriously.

Incisive: Despite his comically strict adherence to an artist’s lifestyle, Jack is remarkable perceptive, and he tends to think far more analytically than one might first expect. He excels at taking apart a problem piece by piece to examine all the finer details, and it is from all these components that he draws

his conclusions. Even beyond the practical applications, he considers himself a great observer of people; behind his frivolous facade is a collection of insights on human behavior.

Romantic: Considering he has made a lifestyle out of crafting fragile works of art, it comes as no surprise that Jack’s own imagination swings in a fanciful direction. He would never go so far as to consider a so-called ‘happy ending’ for himself, but were he to claim he believed that devotion could not overcome any obstacle put before it then he would be thrice-called a liar. Of course, that does not at all deter him from seeking out suitably unrealistic stories of affection in this less-than-ideal world…

Reticent: Jack does not readily offer up his brain for picking because even he does not have a firm grip on his own self. Those smiles he wears so often he dispenses for free, but the turmoil raging behind the curves of his mouth go unaddressed — and that’s precisely as he likes it. Nobody is to be let all the way in because he cannot help fearing just how much empty space he contains; it would take a very particular person to tear down the masonry and brave the deep dark behind it.

Crafty: Jack’s powers of persuasion know no bounds, and he hasn’t the slightest reservation about manipulating others in order to achieve his own ends. The extent of how far he would toy with another to get what he wants has not yet been fully explored, but the young man often uses his honeyed speech to his advantage on a daily basis. It’s not often that people leave his store without purchasing at least a trinket…

Audacious: Reckless, bold, and flying in the face of many traditions, Jack is as irreverent as he is erratic. More straitlaced individuals may struggle in handling him as he refuses to be pinned down by anyone any their expectations, and as a result, he typically comes across as both rebellious purely for his own amusement and contrary for no reason other than his freedom to be so. His fearless (and, in some cases, self-destructive) tendencies bring him more than a little trouble.

Fixated: Because of how detail-oriented his mind is, Jack falls into the unhealthy habit of obsessing over some seemingly minute features. He may not incapable of seeing the grand scheme of things, but if one planned aspect were to go awry, he has difficulty working past it. Often times, Jack fails to successfully navigate through it and instead chooses to move around it, leaving an unsolved and sometimes glaring problem in his wake. His obsessive and occasionally dead-end behavior similarly applies to people in his life, as well.

Impious: While it might be strange for someone as unashamedly romantic as Jack to be against the idea of any sort of deity, he stubbornly refuses to even so much as entertain the possibility. The direction of mankind should belong in the hands of man and most certainly not in the hands of some higher power — invisible or otherwise. Even if humans cheat, kill, and destroy each other, in his eyes the consolation prize is that at least people chose such a fate for themselves. He does not openly mock those who harbor religious beliefs; instead, he only speaks his mind on the matter with those he holds in high esteem.

No one ever thinks much of Jack. He thinks this as it ought to be.

His father did not think of him from the time he stole away from the boy’s mother the morning after — though, of course, the boy was not a boy just yet. The thought of the boy was never even conceived, and yet just nine months later, the boy arrived all the same. The boy shared this home with his kind but troubled mother, and it did not take long for the dreams to take hold of him.

Fire. Fire. Always fire. Jack dreamt in shades of red. A child should have feared witnessing such sights of chaos and destruction, and yet… all that perturbed him upon waking was an aching sense of loss in his chest — but what had he lost? He went searching for the father had never known once he grew tall enough to leave his home behind, and Jack carried this hollowness with him off to Ireland and took up residence beneath a foreign roof. Schooling came and went and his peers with it, and still that empty hole widened and ate away at his heart.

Whatever he lost amongst the fire and ash, it was not here, and it became increasingly apparent to him that lingering away from home only encouraged the invisible wound to fester. After relocating to Reveille to seek what might yet make him whole once more, the young man thought best to employ what occupied his waking hours back in Ireland towards carving out a living: glass blowing. Presently the owner of a humble shop downtown, Jack continues to hone his skills, to perfect his craft, and to peddle his smiles.

No one ever thinks much of Jack. He wonders now if they’ve lost him.

The night is cool, he thinks, a blessed reprieve from the relentless heat of the furnace. All above him spans the sky, and were it not for the fatigue weighing down his limbs, he might reach up and shepherd the clouds along with his fingertip. Lying here upon his back and staring up into the void feels odd and alien; it is leaning against a tree trunk and gazing at the blues and whites that he craves.

The pressure of someone’s shoulder grazes against his own, but when he turns to glance beside him, he finds nothing but an empty rooftop.

Holding the bauble up towards where he fancies the moon might be were the dark clear, the glassmith cannot shake the feeling of nostalgia.

(Nostalgia? Jack never remembers anything too fondly. ‘Remembers.’ He’s not so sure anymore what it means, and it’s far too exhausting to dwell on.)

Observant – Oswald’s curious. He observes the world carefully. When he finds something he doesn’t understand—something inexplicable and interesting—he has to get to the bottom of it. As Oswald has always been observant, he has yet to encounter anything (or anyone) that’s permanently stumped him.

Righteous – Oswald is interested in doing what is right. He’s always been taught (and always believed) that doing the right thing isn’t always going with the easy way out. This trait extends beyond himself. He wants the world to do what is right: to follow laws, to vote in local elections, and to do it for moral reasons rather than social obligation. This is the part of what draws him to criminal justice. (Which is rather funny, as this requires him to defend the guilty as well as the innocent. Still, Oswald believes in the right to a fair trial, no matter who it is.)

Perspicacious – As he’s observant, Oswald can’t help but be clear-sighted. He sees things very clearly, and knows how the little pieces fit into a bigger picture. He believes that there is a greater good, and that we’re all bound by humanity to obey it. Having grown up in a Roman Catholic household, this view also applies to religion. Oswald believes that everyone answers to God, no matter their gender, socioeconomic status, or beliefs.

Loyal – It takes a while for Oswald to become attached to anyone, and longer still for him to trust anyone. However, once you’ve earned his trust, you’ve earned it forever (unless you do something worthy of losing it). In this vein, betrayal is one of the things that Oswald will always have trouble grasping. He understands the concept, and he has seen it in action—yet his understanding of betrayal is abstract. Oswald could never betray anyone himself, and as such, he doesn’t understand why other people could feel any different.

Unyielding – Oswald doesn’t compromise. Things go his way, or no way at all. Not only does this make him a pain to work with on mock cases in law school, but he also unintentionally drives wedges between himself and those closest to him.

Unforgiving – Oswald finds it difficult (and nearly impossible) to forgive and forget. Fights from years ago plague him and hinder him from behaving normally. As a result, he may come across as dispassionate, aggressive, and even cruel. In the aftermath of a harsh fight, he’s torn between wishing to forget and allowing his bitterness to ferment.

Unaware (of himself) – For most of his life, Oswald has gone along with his family’s plans for his future. He was told that being a criminal court attorney was practical, so he chose to go to law school. He was brought up in a Roman Catholic household, so he believes in Roman Catholicism—and even if he learned about other denominations of Christianity in European History, he never seriously applied their nuances to himself, or even considered a wholly different religion. In the end, as outwardly observant as Oswald is, his greatest failure is his misunderstanding of what he himself most wants and needs.

Indecisive – That is, if the right person came along and suggested that perhaps the world was not just so. As he has never been offered a perspective other than his own, he unwittingly seeks validation of his views. In being denied that, he’d hesitate, falter, and perhaps come to a full-stop. He’s always had a feeling he’s missed the truth by a hairsbreadth anyway.

Bio: In Oswald’s first memory is in greyscale. He’s holding a hand that’s just a bit smaller and warmer than his own. The hand extends into an arm into a tether: a small but solid weight keeping him grounded in the winter wind. He’s been told this memory is a dream. He’s an only child, and he finds the distance between two hands a hard one to breech.

Oswald remembers his second memory. He’s just not sure what it is. By then, the world was overflowing with color and sound. His parents took him out on picnics in meadows of bluebells and bought a piano—black and ivory keys—and hired a teacher. He went to school. His father made car parts and his mother was a paralegal. They weren’t well off. They weren’t badly off. He grew taller. They said, “Thank you for this meal. Amen.” He was so loved his parents often reminded him that lawyers can find work almost anywhere as he went through high school, so he took the requisite courses and applied first to university and then to The Glen School of Law.

Sometimes he wonders if he has it all backwards. Sometimes he wonders if he should dream in color. He doesn’t know what color that girl’s eyes are, but her hand presses with its phantom touch long into his waking hours. Sometimes she sings a song. Sometimes he plays her song on the piano. Sometimes someone laughs and names it something whimsical.

His parents have bright hopes for his future. Oswald just wants to understand the strange tingling in his fingers when he stands in a courtroom. But for now, he has to pay off his student loan and graduate.

Roleplay Sample: His sleeve snags on the battlements. It snags and leaves behind thin streams of black thread. They are nearly invisible against the aged stone. Behind him, the tour guide is talking about the castle’s multi-layered walls. One meter thick, he hears, and some slumbering shadow murmurs, no, that is not so. This wall is not quite so thick or tall. This wall is just high enough for fear and high enough for that person (oh, who?) to find the seams of the sky and tear it down.  

Oswald loosens his grip on the edge of the wall. The rock has worn imprints on the palms of his hands. He scribbles down notes on the notches in the battlements and the scorch marks along the stone, but he writes nothing of the threads waving in the air like spider legs.

The tour guide is moving on, down the stairs and out of the sun. He shields his eyes. For miles and miles, nothing but green. A long time ago, maybe here, someone with grassy eyes fell. Oswald hopes he was caught.

Curious: From a very early age, Miranda has always been interested in a great many topics, often of varying subjects and interests. Her curiosities have led her down many paths in her life, and Miranda is one of those rare people with the money and dedication to pursue a question, should it continue to confound her. She is perpetually interested in a variety of things, from medical questions and cures, to the mysteries and shadows of the occult. She doesn’t accept that some things are simply off limits either. Miranda is not one to let her passing questions go unanswered.

Intelligent: Miranda has always had an above average intelligence. She excelled in academics, until they bored her and she stopped paying much attention, but that did not keep her from doing well in her classes as a child, or from learning things. Her disdain for the conventional concepts behind obtaining knowledge only encouraged her to pursue her interests on her own, and to disregard whatever foolish instructions she was given. To put it bluntly, if you pose a question to her, or give her a problem that must be solved, she will resolve it, but likely not in the way you expected. She’s very sociable, and great at leading a conversation, and her innate curiosity means that she is also a rapt listener. Obsessive: When there is a task, or a thing set in front of Miranda, she is relentless in her pursuit of it. If she wants something, Miranda will work to get it, even if that might take her years. It’s rare for something to snag her attention and keep it for so long, but if it does, watch out and don’t get in the way. When she wants to be, Miranda can be disgustingly single minded, and this could easily become a point of contention. This largely has to do with the fact that she has always had oodles and oodles of money, so anything she wanted, she got. If she is denied something, she will desire it obsessively so, and will not stop until she has obtained whatever it is she has set her sights on.

Short Sighted: For someone with so much going for them, Miranda is disgustingly short sighted, and has a very bad habit of not truly considering the consequences of her actions. Perhaps due to her cushy station in life, and the fact that she’s been able to buy her way out of any problems in the past, Miranda doesn’t seem to comprehend that her actions actually have lasting consequences. This could also be a cognitive dissonance issue, but she would rather blame the money and dismiss the issue all together.

Questionable Moral Compass: Miranda, to say the least, is a deviant person. She has no regard for social morals and norms, and though she’s good at hiding that, it often leaks through in her everyday life. Most people that don’t know Miranda well, chalk that up to her various eccentricities, but in truth, it is a far deeper issue that that. From an early age she had interests in strange things, and pursued those interests, despite the protest of others, with single minded determination. Her various ‘strange’ interests, have led her to some very disturbing societal views and concepts, that would easily unnerve most people. As stated before, on a social level, she’s good at hiding it, but it isn’t so odd for her to let something disturbing slip in a conversation.

Lack of Empathy: Miranda finds it near impossible to relate to other people. This is not to say that she isn’t social, or nice, or liked, because she is all of these things. To put it simply, she’s good at playing the part of someone who is sympathetic, and understanding. Miranda, in her heart of hearts, is not a caring, or understanding person, and has a very difficult time even considering herself in other people’s shoes. This could be a mental issue on her part, but she tends to think it is because of the money. Due to her elevated status, she is of the opinion that she and most people are just too different for her to honestly relate to them, but in the end, this is just an excuse so that she doesn’t have to categorize her lack of empathy as psychopathic.

Bio (at least three paragraphs, include what the character is doing at the moment): Miranda was born in Moscow, to a family with old money. As a young girl, she got everything she wanted, whenever she wanted it. She was the eldest daughter, with two younger brothers, and a mother and father who were off vacationing for most of her childhood and teenage years. In every sense of the word, Miranda was the lady of the house, and she played the part masterfully. Domineering, persuasive and aggressive, Miranda had her way with the servants, and her younger brothers, and was known to have the whole household under her thumb.

Even as a young girl, Miranda had strange, disturbing dreams, but for her, they weren’t strange at all. In fact, she only realized that they were frightening, when she told them to her younger brother once, and he got scared. At the time, she only dismissed him, but later on she would realize that perhaps that was her first indication that she was not quite as ‘normal’ as she should have been.

As a young girl, she had a variety of interests, but few of them stuck. Her obsessive nature lead her down many a path, but once she reached satisfactory answers, she often allowed her purists to fall by the wayside. Two of these interests that did not waver, were Chemistry, and the Occult. Her interest in Chemistry led her to some of the most prestigious schools and competitions in Europe, where she performed year after year in the top five percentile. Even now, she keeps a well stocked laboratory in her home, should she feel the interest to dabble in something a little explosive. As for the Occult, this is a purist that Miranda still actively participates in, largely in part because it is such a mysterious and interesting area of study for her. She’s a bit of an authority on the subject, but is always looking for more information, new spells and potions.  

Miranda went to college on a full scholarship, to an excellent school in Germany for her studies in Chemistry. But, as she took classes, Miranda’s total disregard for what she was suppose to be taking got her kicked out of the university, so she moved to a different one in Romania, where she pursued medial studies. Once she was finished with her medical degrees, she moved to London, and opened a private practice, but within the year she’d been closed down for questionable behavior. Her money saved her medical license, but she agreed to skip town and not to practice on ‘living’ patients again.

Thus, life has placed Miranda in Reveille, where she has taken up occasional work in the medical examiner’s office. For fun. But most of her time spent outside of her large mansion on the outside of Reveille, is spent on the Reveille collage campus, where she has largely bought her way into the University’s good graces, and where she enjoys sitting in on lectures and attending occasional classes.

The minute Miranda entered the amphitheater, Professor West stopped what she was doing, and rushed up the stairs to her side. Miranda smiled, and wondered how little it would take for that woman to lick her boots. “Hello Gloria.” Miranda stated in greeting, as the other woman rushed to her side. “I trust our visiting lector has been enjoying his stay?”

Gloria West smiled at her and nodded. “Yes, Dr. Barma. He has been most impressed with our campus, and would love to return at a later date. After these set of lectures are over of course.” West taught molecular biology at Reveille University, a subject that Miranda had a passing fancy in. But it had gotten around fast enough that she was the new Dr. Money Bags on campus, so even though she’d only attended West’s lectures once, the woman had petitioned her to pay for a visiting scholar to visit. Of course, Miranda got to chose said scholar, since she was footing the bill. She rather enjoyed having the say so about these sort of things. Not to mention that It was a nice feeling to think that she could write the check, but still have the whole thing canceled at her own whim.

Regardless, she’d footed the money for West’s silly little lecture series, and now she was here to at least get a lecture out of it. For the good of the community, as she liked to say. It was her duty as a well to do lady to provide such enlightening lectures for the betterment of the community. Or some such rot. Miranda enjoyed spewing that sort of dribble, but by no means did she believe it. She most certainly enjoyed the boot licking more than ‘enlightening the masses’.

"You have prepared a seat for me, haven’t you?" Miranda prompted, looking over as West tried not to wring her hands together.

"Of course Dr. Barma, right in the front." West extended her hand, motioning to the front row, where at least five seats were set aside. She then led Miranda down the stairs, turning back to look up at her. "We’re also having dinner with our guest after the lecture. It would be our great pleasure if you would attend." Miranda looked at Gloria West, and gave a small smile.

"I suppose that could be arranged. I did have matters to attend to tonight, but they can wait." Miranda thought of the body in her underground freezer, the one she had planned on finishing up that evening, and sighed. It could wait. It certainly wasn’t going anywhere.

Honest. Elliot thinks that lying is a terrible trait. He’s had enough time to realize he dislikes people who cannot be truthful to your face. Whether it’s school or his extra activities, those people are terrible to talk to- and he often doesn’t hesitate to state so. He will always say what he thinks, which, even if it might sometimes be hurtful, is a quality those close to him are glad about. Hard-working. No matter what, Elliot will not give up on anything. He makes up for the things he lacks talent in by trying again and again and finding new ways to improve. He is serious about what he does and will not abandon his work halfway. He might struggle, but he will definitely accomplish his goal. Reliable. Even though he might seem unapproachable (and he usually is), he will not bail out once he is needed. He cares about those close to him, and won’t hesitate to help when he can. His classmates trust him because of this trait, and respect him a lot. He was even nominated to be the class rep at some point, but turned the seat down.

Proud. If there’s one thing Elliot can’t stand, it’s relying on someone else for something he is sure he can cope with himself. This can be said about his emotions as well- he doesn’t like others chiming in with ‘tips’ on how to handle something. He also values the fact his family’s genealogy can be traced back to the nobility (part of the reason why they live in an old-fashioned red brick cottage). He doesn’t like it when his dignity to be insulted, and defends it fiercely. Short-tempered. If someone lights the fuse, Elliot is sure to explode. He can snap because of the littlest things, not caring who did it- be it a friend, a teacher, his family or even a complete stranger. He is often told that he needs to learn how to control his loud attitude, and he then proceeds to yell at those who tell him off, switching between defensive and being embarrassed. It must be the Scottish blood in him, most say, and laugh it off. Grumpy. Of course, Elliot can be happy and relaxed, but he can only feel like that around his family. And even then, not all the time. A scowl is almost always there on his face, and he often gets prodded between his eyebrows by his mother. “It’ll stay there forever if you keep doing it,” she keeps repeating. Elliot smiles for his mother, because he knows she loves his smile. Others can go screw themselves if they ever say something like that, though.

Growing up with a pair of psychologists as your parents can be rather difficult, and Elliot knows that best. Despite being adopted, he was loved by his father, mother and little sister. They would comfort him whenever he had dark, terrifying dreams that they learned of as soon as he learned how to talk. Other than that, he had a normal childhood that consisted of being spoiled and getting into a lot of fights.

Throughout his teenage years, Elliot learned to hide the fact that his nights were still plagued by those mysterious dreams- he knew his parents were still suspicious, but was relieved when they mentioned nothing of it to him. He tried out various clubs and extracurricular activities until he settled down for three: piano lessons, fencing and photography. Rather than being social, he caught the habit of wandering around the town he lived in and pouring his heart into the songs he played and composed. He started a tradition of writing a piece for his mother every year, who died of a stroke when he was in 9th grade.

It was pretty hard to decide what he wanted to study after he would finish school, but Elliot finally settled on film production- it was his father’s suggestion (his sister was sour when he had to refuse her idea of him being a private detective). He was reluctant at first, seeing as he would need a lot of patience and social skills, and had to be reminded that was the point: to earn such traits throughout his studies. But, instead of studying it in the local university, a friend suggested studying abroad in the city of Reveille, which is known for its beautiful places and a university that produced great filmmakers. Elliot had always wanted to live somewhere else- he never felt like he belonged in the town he lived in, anyway. And just the sound of Reveille made something move in his heart- it felt like an abnormally strong pull. After several months of arguments and silent treatment from his family, he got their blessing(s) to spread his wings.

Upon arriving at Reveille, Elliot has settled down in a hotel until he can finally move into a dorm at Latowidge University. As he waits for his first day at the university, Elliot doesn’t just sit by doing nothing: he is currently searching for a part time job he could take up so that he does not have to rely on his father’s money, as well as exploring the neighbourhood he is staying at.

Positive traits:

"Adaptability"

Levi’s life style before moving to his current residence was nomadic, so having this trait allowed him to ease into his temporary homes. It was quickly built up as a boy without much else to him than his own body, so jobd that involved construction, cooking services, and anywhere that didn’t ask too many questions.

This trait allowed him to blend in with different social classes with their own social cues and win them over none the wiser of his bare beginnings. Said connections made from those interactions made it quickly unsterstandable for Levi to take up the pattern of not staying in one place too long while keeping contacts close in case he needed a quick out.

"Social"

Learned from years of blending into groups of all different backgrounds, Levi has rightly earned this trait because of his talents of spinning believable stories about himself if asked. Though not entirely used for just that, it makes it simpler to know one’s surroundings if people were able to easily convese with an outsider like him.

Allowing him to click into the pulse of the community, Levi could quickly speak of events that occurred years before he had arrived there as though he were actually were. It certainly makes long rides more enjoyable if one gets the whole train car to participate in a grand debate over whether or not the seats were comfortable.

"Perceptive"

Another trait honed over years of travel.Levi has used it for both gain and self-preservation, and considering the places he has been, the latter has saved his life on more than one occasion.

The slightest clue of trouble would break loose would, from his perspective, about an hour beforehand. Though as useful as it, Levi can flub up interactions by bringing something to the table of conversation that a person wants to say yet refuses speak it aloud, and it can make or break the tentative conversation.

Negative traits:

"Detached"

While Levi can be very personable, it can be seen by those actually looking that the man is keeping his cards close to his chest. At times, he doesn’t even realize that he is holding himself apart from the conversation, no matter how exuberant he acts.

After years of being brushed aside in both terms of security and legitimate bonds, Levi adopted the trait unknowingly to deal without having the proper foundation provided by such things. Even going as far as closing off that part of himself that desperately desired them, and forgetting that he once felt such a need in the first place.

"Anxious"

The aftermath of closing himself off has left Levi to be very vunerable in his darker moments, he loses all the artificial trappings, the ones he threw over the holes left behind from his lost parts, crumple into dust and force him to face that he is just a husk of an existence.

As result to any near him, the confident man starts to slip in the ways he practiced over the years, and he is a jittering mess trying hold everything in.

That is only when Levi doesn’t relax often enough, and it bursts forth all at once.

Which is what occurred prior to moving Reveille, it was not pretty, so this trait has become more apparent if he speaks personally with another person for a long period of time. It would appear he is just bringing a heavier topic of conversation when Levi is just trying to find an outlet for the built up emotions.

"Extravagant"

If Levi is bored, he will do anything to kill it. Even if it is ridiculous, dangerous, or whatever, he will do it big, and then lodly laugh at how everyone tries so desperately to tightly control themselves. This has lead him to be incarcerated for… causing ‘civil unrest’… ‘petty’ crimes…. [CLASSIFIED], just small things that ultimately end up snowballing. At times, it can be one hell of a ride, but it often comes to a head at inappropriate times.

Bio:

Levi Chesterfield has lived in many places, spoken many languages, and traveled the world funded by his winnings earned in card games, or what have you. He is the master of his own life, nowhere is home, none hold his loyalty, and it suits him just fine. Except for the tugging at his heart, the one thing that has been consistent in his whole existence. Be them healer, or highly regarded doctor that he blackmailed, they all told him that there was nothing wrong with his heart.

"You are in perfect health, Mr. Chesterfield."

Too many times in all sorts of languages, Levi has been told that whatever is wrong with him, it was not in his body, in head, and most certainly, not in his heart.

The tugging increased as Levi aged, whatever age he was because he long forgotten what it was, and he ached for whoever was pulling so insistently to just show themselves, or just leave him the Hell alone.

As time went on, his own heart became hollow, and the only feeling left was the frail string - such a pathetic thing to bring him to his knees - that was wrapped around his crumpling heart, trying to keep it together as it pulled him forward.

Until one day, Levi collapsed under his constant failure of not finding the one holding the other end of that silly string. It was not a pretty sight. After recovering from ‘whatever the hell that was’, Levi finds out that a city nearby has a haunted house up for sale ‘privately’.

The tug is not as bad as it once was, but it keeps him returning to the web page of the house.

It looked oddly familar in the way kids with no place to call their own would imagine a house to be.

Just waiting for them to come home…

Roleplay sample (at least 2 paragraphs, IC, third person):

As silly as it sounded, Levi was looking forward to seeing the inside of the house since there weren’t even floor plans to hint of what it looked like. Even the pictures of the actual house, all of them were taken too far away that it was just a fuzzy mess.

The desire to actually want simething alone felt unreal. Going past the last line of houses, Levi takes a sharp turn on his bike to ride down the fieldside.

The house peeks up on the right side of the road, it doesn’t even look like the kind of place that would be haunted.

It was just a regular old house…

Easing to a stop before the drive, Levi kicks the stand down.

A mousy man jumps out the car in front of him as his nasally voice squeak outs, “M-Mr. Chesterfield?!”

Quickly pulling off his helmet, Levi gives the shaking man his best grin and two finger salute, “Yo.”

Mouse’s face falls as Levi waltzes over to the front gate, does the guy seriously think that he was going to run away from a house?

Levi would have to be a fool to runaway now!

Reaching out his hand towards Mouse, Levi opens and closes it.

The smaller man immediately pushes a key into his palm as though it had bit him. It was an ornate key that looked too detailed that it had to be made by hand, “I thought the original owners up and left,” Levi holds it, “how’d you have this?”

Mouse straightens, “We had a copy in the Archives that their keymaker donated.”

Levi hums in aknowledgement as he pushes the supposedly abadoned gate open with no resistance whatsoever, and walks up to the mahogany door. He can’t help looking at the grass that looked to be well cared for.

Turning back towards the gate to ask if somone was caring for the house, Mouse’s bald head and thick glasses stare at him from behind the stone pillar, “Aren’t you supposed to come in with me?”

He swears he hears another squeak come from the other man as they shake their head rapidly, “There’s a reason why it put up as a private sale!”

Placing the key into the door, he mutters, “I just thought it was to keep the local kids from breaking in?”

If Mouse said anything, Levi didn’t catch it because when the key clicked in the lock, a gust of air escapes the house.

As though the house was exhaling…

Barely pushing the door open, Levi takes a tentative step into the dark entryway.

If he didn’t know better, he’d say this home was under a spell of some kind. Everything was too still from the what Levi could see with what little light that spilled froth from the doorway.

It… The air was held in place by this enchantment, and going as far to say that Time itself was not allowed here.

The feeling that was frozen into this place was an aching emptiness that felt too familiar. Why did it remind him so much of when he first woke up, and how Levi waited all those hours for someone, anyone, to come pick him off the side of the road.

Was he…

Breathing out a curse, Levi feels out what his knee slammed into, and all he found was some plushy material that…

"They left all their stuff?"

Mouse’s voice squeaks from outside, “What?!”

His eyes become used to the darkness as familiar shapes are placed around what he knows is a living room, “They left their freaking crap here?!”

It…Levi just-he can’t-

"Mr. Chesterfield! Are you alright," Mouse must be edging towards the door because Levi can hear his clattering teeth, "I’ll come in?"

"You people are trying to sell somebody else’s home, and they’re probably just out of the country?!"

Levi couldn’t help the venom he was spitting, it happened one too many times to him that he’d be damned if he did it to someone else. Not counting the first thirteen times it happened, but he was pretty green then.

And hungry.

The ‘serious’ Mr. Mouse’s voice speaks out from the door, “No one has lived here in over fifty years, Mr. Chesterfield, and we received the deed about a month ago.”

From what he can see, the smaller man was ghost-white, and Levi pulls himself back, why was he acting out like this?

He’s better than this to be bothered by such a thing. What was with him?!

Leaning against the back of the couch, Levi tries rubbing away the growing headache, “Who sent the deed?”

"No one, not even a return address" Mouse gulps, "the others believe it may have been pre-planned to be delivered on that date when they left."

Levi’s face pinches, “And who exactly are they?”

"The original owner, but apprently, their name isn’t on record either."

"Yet you people are se-"

"They were a big family according to my grandmother," Mouse tries to look over to Levi from the doorway without coming into the house, "a wide assortment of people that weren’t related by blood, and they were just gone in a single night."

Levi stifled a groan, what was with rumors and ‘it was a single night’ bull, it made things so boring to listen to.

Mouse fixed his glasses as he frowned, and Levi was thinking that the other man was confused by this mess as well, “No offical resignations, no removals of the children from their schools, nothing.”

Leaning into the couch, it wasn’t that unusual for people to leave all of a sudden. Especially if they were trying to make their leaving a quiet affair.

"And to compensate no knowing anything," Levi sighs out, "you people just made up rumors as to why they were suddenly gone."

Taking Mouse’s silence as confirmation, he walks over to the door, “I already paid for the place when I dropped by your office earlier, so you-“

The man is already in his car making a u-turn when he calls out, “Good luck, Mr. Chesterfield!”

Levi has barely enough time to blink, and Mouse is gone.

As he wheels his motorcycle into the garage - which was also filled with crap - Levi hefts his burlap bag of his worldly possessions over his shoulder, and walks through the front door.

Unlike before where the air was heavy, it felt light, and even the curtains in the bay windows were allowing the midday sun’s to flood into the living room.

"I broke the curse," Levi laughs himself, it was funny to think there were such things in the world, but the house felt more open.

Dumping his bag and coat onto the couch, he notes that nothing was covered in any dust.

"Weird house, but," Levi turns on his heels to check out what else was left behind and prays for that the previous owner left towels and soaps, "you’re mine now, so no-"

The open door slams shut, all the lights turn on, and Levi is certain he can hear the water running.

"…Crap."
