I designed this simple crochet flower with beginners in mind. It could be used for any crochet project one could think of. It consists of a bottom & top layer then is finished with a rosette center. I decided to go with a neapolitan color theme but any array of colors would make this flower pop.

Size J crochet hook 6 mm ---> Buy now

Size I crochet hook 5.5 mm ---> Buy now

Crochet abbreviations:

dc = double crochet

sc = single crochet

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

st = stitch

Patterns:

Bottom layer of flower (shown in pink):

using size J crochet hook ch 3, 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st to top of first dc. (12)

ch 3, dc 2 times in next ch, * sl st in next ch, ch 3, dc 2 times in next ch, repeat from * around for a total of 6 petals, end with a slip stitch in bottom of first ch 3.

Top layer of flower (shown in chocolate):

using size I crochet hook ch 3, 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook,

sl st to top of first dc. (12)

ch 3, dc 2 times in next ch, * sl st in next ch, ch 3, dc 2 times in next ch, repeat from * around for a total of 6 petals, end with a slip stitch in bottom of first ch 3.

Rosette center (shown in linen):

with size J crochet hook ch 8, 2 sc’s in 2nd ch from hook and in every ch across. fasten off
