Sometimes I sit awake at night and think about you, Grace. I loved you so much. I loved you too much. We were bolted to the hip. We shouldn't have been. But that's fate, isn't it? I sit there, listening to music like goddamned... TV Girl and think about you. Especially Taking What's Not Yours. That's us, to me. We took so much from each other, yet never returned the favors to one another. I don't love you anymore. For your sake, I hope you don't either. It was horrific, the way we drove each other to such horrible lengths.
Let's just be best friends again, one day, when we aren't so terrible for one another. That's the you that I miss. The one who had indoor camp-outs with me. The one who read my writings and hummed tunes while I did wood carvings. The one who helped me brush my hair some days when I'd isolate and not take care of myself.
I loved you, Grace Munroe.
Let's just be friends, in a different life. In a better life. That's all I ask of you now. This time, I won't be that person.
