I'm sitting watching the episode Elvis Lives from the Reelz show Case Closed with A.J. Benza. While doing so I decided to see what comics have been done about the King of Rock and Roll and I found some interesting things.

One link between Elvis and Comics is that apparently Elvis' look was inspired by Captain Marvel Jr. Captain Marvel Jr., made his debut in Whiz Comics #25 (December 1941) published by Fawcett Comics. I mean check out this picture, the King rocks that cape like a true Superhero no matter what Edna Moulds says about capes. Thank you, thank you very much.

Not only did the singular Michael Moorcock create numerous legendary characters, pioneer the concepts of the multiverse, and usher in the New Wave literary movement, he is an acclaimed and accomplished musician, most notably with the famed Hawkind. With the band Moonhawks, alongside Hawkwind founder Nik Turner and bassist Alan Davey, Moorcock celebrates the music of Hawkwind at the North American Space Ritual 2019, Come and Take It Live in Austin, TX on Saturday, March 30 6PM.
