Dokumentärfilmaren Simon Klose följde de tre åtalade The Pirate Bay grundarna mellan åren 2008 och 2010 under de rättegångsförhandlingar som hölls då. Filmmaterialet resulterade i dokumentärfilmen TPB AFK (The Pirate Bay Away From Keybord). Filmen delfinansierades genom crowdfunding (även kallat gräsrotsfinansiering). Freedom From Money träffade Simon Klose för att prata om hans erfarenheter av crowdfunding och huruvida det är ett alternativ till mer traditionell finansiering.

Rather angering (by reflecting the frustrating current world--- though I think the pillars are already shaking. Just let the kids of the 90's to graduate their law schools, ripen as thinkers, and find each other in the world), it deals with important issues. I don't remember exactly what it addresses in the film (it was a little while back), but it sent me to ruminate these issues and I'm thankful for that. Check it out. Download it from the pirate bay, it's probably well seeded.

I gave Sundance the opportunity to bring the file sharing debate to Sundance where it is needed the most. They didn’t let me. You could argue that I am a bitter film-maker but you could also argue that they censored me from debating the future of the film industry

The "TPB:AFK" director lamenting the fact that Sundance turned down his doc about file-sharing website The Pirate Bay. Released for free online in early Feb, the film has racked up over a million views already.
