<在可愛動物的陪伴下照鏡子/動物園裡的天氣> by 張雍 (中時人間副刊 6.1.2012) http://news.chinatimes.com/Chinatimes/Philology/Philology-Coffee/0,3406,112012010600431+11051301+20120106+news,00.html “Someone told me it’s all happening at the zoo.” - Paul Simon 我喜歡逛動物園,裡面參觀的人群讓我著迷。 遊客們喜歡看老虎,近距離老虎威猛的聲響比電視畫面更嚇人;喜歡看棕熊,因為熊站立時的身軀比想像中更立體。自己鍾情動物園的理由反而是裡邊的「人」──好奇動物園的門票為何總是那麼便宜?園內每一個角落都上演著令我嘖嘖稱奇卻不敢當場歡呼,拍手叫好的劇情,離開動物園時望見門口的售票小姐,眼神都會不自覺地流露出感謝之意,如此便宜的票價,謝謝他們讓我在珍奇異獸及可愛動物的陪伴之下,看到某個之前不太熟悉的自己…… 曾經讀過一段故事:馬戲團裡有一頭剛出生不久的小象,從出生的第一天起就被拴在厚重的木樁上,麻繩長約三公尺,小象活動的範圍就是以那木樁為圓心,直徑六公尺的圓圈裡。時間一天一天的過去,小象成了大象,但那溫馴的身影,總是若有所思地在圓圈的世界裡游移。若干年後,團長決定解下項圈的束縛,終獲自由的大象,每天還是繼續在那直徑六公尺的圓圈內徑自踱步,地平線另一端的風景彷彿並非真實的劇情……每每逛動物園時都會想到這個故事,也會特地觀察眼前大象腳步的移動,並不自覺地偷瞄一下柵欄前其他遊客們步伐踩踏過的痕跡…… 佔地偌大的動物園就像是現代繁忙城市裡的一面大鏡子,你可能早已忘記上次造訪動物園時究竟是什麼樣的心情,但仔細留神一聽,周遭的親朋好友們似乎十分熱衷於談論或者抱怨動物園裡的伙食甚至天氣。 張雍
