@silverwolfcc shares her final reflections on GamerGate, the original Pizzagate [no, not the QAnon one], The Fine Young Capitalists, what she would change about GG, her advice for future movements and concerns about a potential casting couch in games journalism. An excerpt on what CC learned from GamerGate:
"So much. I think the biggest thing was, like I said, instead of trying to rely on reviews and fear—I had a lot of fear of wasting my time trying to play games I might not like—just fucking go for it. Go balls to the wall, try every fucking game, and even if I hate it, it'll be funny, and I'll learn from that. And that definitely, like I said, third best decision of my life, so that certainly—and I would not have ever come to that without GamerGate.
Other things I learned? People on the internet are hilarious. You will find the absolute Mos Eisely of them—you know, very terrible people—but you will also find the best. And like I said, I made quite a few friends, and they were so supportive. Like I said, I really had to come to some stark emotional thinking through my whole identity and self—like, things I thought I knew and realizing truth and reality—and they were just very, very patient with me, and I don't think I can say that about any other group. If I had gone so aggro at them, they would not have been nearly as kind and patient, and I really appreciate that." -CC
