Head of Xbox: "You stupid POORS keep buying good indie games for cheap, and not our bloated mediocre garbage for the luxury PCs we call consoles! So fine, fuck it, everyone get out, we're turning Minecraft into Roblox."
Double Fine and Compulsion Games will become independent studios, Ninja Theory and Undead Labs will join new ownership, and Arkane Lyon is i
I understand this sucks for everyone who has to reshuffle their lives. But I think in the long run, a lot of these studios Microsoft vacuumed up and forced to work on stupid hero shooters will benefit from going indie again, and relearning how to make good, fun games for sensible budgets.
Let Michaelsoft turn Minecraft into a ballpit you have to pay to pee in, that will STILL not take on Roblox, because they clearly fundamentally do not understand what Roblox even is or why kids like it.
I will be surprised if Xbox even does a Gen 10. Sony will, because Sony has been making obnoxious toys for rich people for at least two console generations now; that's their market. But Xbox was for the People, so to speak, and the people can't afford it and don't need it anymore. This game is on every platform but Switch...and yet for some reason Kotaku decided to try link this studio's closing to Game Pass.
How can Xbox get anywhere when everyone is against them no matter what they do?

"the company is burning billions of dollars on AI, and the guy in charge is going on a podcast and simply shrugging and essentially saying, 'I don’t know if it’s worth it yet'."

А вот это интересно. Прям ультра хорошо продумали это, учитывая, сколько там лицензионной музыки. Если всё действительно так.
Изначально казалось, просто вкусняшка на год-два, которую потом тупо снесут, но нет, видимо. 🙏👏
