"Love"
"Somebody help me,
this is so unhealthy,
please somebody tell me that I've had enough...
'Sorry's are useless, how could someone do this?
All my scars and bruises,
this cannot be love...."
Mini Fizziepop Take:
Angel knows that Val owns him. He's not stupid, he gets that. But I think Angel believes on some level that he deserves the shit Valentino puts him through. I think the reason he broke when Husk calls him out for being fake is because he's sick of feeling like he deserves this, but that on some level this is all he knows dynamic-wise in most relationships so it's almost comforting and familiar in a sick, twisted type of way and he sees how fucked that is now because moving out of the studio and suddenly having the support of everyone in the hotel has shown him that whether its in a platonic, romantic, or sexual, he's worth more beatings, sex, and drugs. I think this song is a good representation of how Angel is starting to think about the treatment he's grown so used to and how it differs from what actual love and care looks like between others.... And while he's always craved the love and affection he's seen others receive all his life, I think it's finally clicking for him that *he* is actually *worth* that same treatment because he's finally seeing himself as more than a junkie with "some mildly entertaining holes".
