You woke up that morning slightly confused. The first thing you noticed was the fact that your cat wasn’t curled up on the end of your bed. You frowned as you slipped out of bed and put your dressing gown on. The second thing you noticed was that your door was open. You knew you had closed it when you had gone to bed and you knew that your cat couldn’t opened it. You grabbed your alarm clock ready to hit anyone that wasn’t meant to be in your house.

As you made your way quietly down the corridor you didn’t notice anything else out of place. That was until you had reached your living room. You froze when you saw what was in front of you. The Master was sitting on your sofa with your cat in his arms. She was purring happily while he scratched her under her chin.

“It’s amazing,” he said at last, “These creatures had such wild ancestors and look what humanity has done to them. You’ve tamed then.”

You walked over and sat down next to him.

“It’s been a while.”

“Has it?”

“Yeah,” you ran your fingers through his hair, “You hair has changed again.”

“Do you like it?”

“I’m sure you didn’t come here just to show me what you look like.”

“No.”

“Or to pet my cat.”

The Master smirked and you rolled your eyes slapping him on the arm.

“You know what I meant.”

“I was going to ask you if you wanted to start travelling again.”

“Was? You’ve changed your mind.”

You were disappointed. While travelling with the Master wasn’t the safest you loved your adventures with him. You adored travelling through time and space and wished you could do it forever.

“Yes, my plans have changed.”

“Why? You hardly ever change your mind.”

“Because of this.”

He held up your cat who meowed in protest. You raised an eyebrow.

“Because I have a cat I can’t travel with you anymore?”

“No. I want to stay here.”

“Oh.” You laughed, “You never struck me as a cat person.”

“Just this one and because it’s yours.”

You cat swatted at him lightly and he lower her back down. Immediately she curled up on his lap and fell asleep. He smiled softly at her and you couldn’t help but return it.

“I never had something just trust me so immediately,” he said, “It’s a refreshing change.”

“I trust you.”

“I know you do,” he held out his arm and you curled up under it, “One of the reasons why I love you so much.”

“Just one? Care to tell the rest?”

“If I did I’d be here all day.”

“My cat is sleeping on you,” you said, “You aren’t moving any time soon.”
