#silly really

I think i am the only person in this planet who doesn’t like “Party Crasher”. No seriously, I can’t bare that album! Maybe 3-4 songs are listenable, but it’s just plain bad (for my choice).

One of those bearable songs is the one which has been selected by TDR on #38, “Silly Really”, and it’s still not on my top 60. But oh well, forgiven not forgotten!

I still remember the first time i heard this song, and obviously, i didn’t like it - so much that i wanted to believe that it’s not a Per song. Gradually, I accepted it. And no, the video didn’t click me much either, but that doesn’t matter that much in this case.

Since it’s the first single and the starting song of the album, “silly really” has a little power to attract you - Not like a magnet but more like a car being towed! So, it’s a drag, it’s a song which is being one of those guys in the bar who’d ask you out, and you’d say “yes” just to be polite.

“Party Crasher” is my least favourite Gessle album. And today, I thought that I may end up liking it a little. But I was wrong, it still didn’t “breathe life into me”.

The album started off with “Silly Really” which is pretty acceptable. And then “Party Pleaser” and then I think i wanted the album to finish. I do think “Sing Along” is a nice song, I still believe “Thai with a Twist” is a fun little song (but I absolutely hate the explosion sound in the end of it), and “Doesn’t make Sense” sounds like a Coldplay song, but still very likeable.

The rest are either annoying, experimented or too electronic.

At times it feels like Per is trying too hard, and at times it seems that he didn’t put a lot of effort. Party Crasher is a weird experience.

Thankfully “Breathe Life into Me” has a nice new “Det är vi tillsammans” with John Holm. “Perfect Excuse” became a Roxette song, which made me not dislike the actual “Perfect Excuse” from Party Crasher. “Gut Feeling” has a SOAP touch, so acceptable.

“Hey I died and went to Heaven” - I just don’t like this song. Its highly imaginative and beautifully written, but Oh my God, how I just want it to finish the moment it starts.

“Stuck here with me” - Annoying.

“Kissing Is the key” - Annoying.

“I didn’t mean to turn you on” - Annoying.

Have I gotten too critical?

Was I expecting too much today from “Party Crasher”? Or it’s just simply an unimpressive album? Or both!
