austin has been sitting with an empty pumpkin for a little while now. cleaning it had been the easy part, even if he'd had to rely on gloves and a spoon to actually get the pumpkin guts out. the texture made him just a little too close to gagging, and he really didn't want to do that while hanging out with allison.
and though he knew this was coming up all week, he had not spent enough time figuring out what he wanted to make. he has a little black crayon in hand, but he sits there. no, he will not choose a design from the book that came with the kit, either. he wants his own.
"...what're you doing again?" he says, looking over to hers. maybe he can cheat.
