That’s when he noticed Tanjiro headed the same way. “Oi what the hell are you doing Sanjuro!? You following me or something? Don’t tell me they stuck us together again!”

Inosuke headbutted a nearby tree, his body spasming with adrenaline. “We can just fight already, and the winner can take out the demon! There’s no way I’m gonna lose though!” Smoke erupted from his pig snout.

The new year hasn't really meant anything to him the last couple of years he's walked this Earth without so much as a thought for himself. Embracing every day with a deep rooted seed of hatred tended to burn away what childish delights he could remember from his past. Only recently had he come to realize that they weren't completely tarnished but reawakened in the face of his new friends, now standing before him with all of the excitement he thought he'd forgotten.

Here in the dark at the side of her bed, speaking in hushed tones as their siblings slept around them, it was difficult for anybody to notice him much less glean anything from it. Still, he couldn't avoid feeling seen even here. He always felt seen with Emma. She knew him too well to miss much.
