ALBUMS OF THE WEEK! No real contest here, as Archspire took the top spot with their fantastic new album, Bleed The Future. My beloved Necropanther reappeared with their latest, The Doomed City, for the next spot. Jerry Cantrell dropped a new album called Brighten, and it’s a smooth listen if you’re an Alice In Chains fan. I also played the newest from Haunt, Demiser and Silberbach. ALBUMS OF THE WEEK. Here are the nine albums that got the most plays from me this week. The clear winner was Skeletal Remains’ awesome new death metal album, “The Entombment of Chaos.” All of my expectations for this one were greatly exceeded. Over The Voids’ new album, “Hadal,” stayed on another week. There are three Vader albums here because Vader is awesome. ALBUMS OF THE WEEK. Here are the nine albums that got the most plays from me this week. The clear winner this time was Dissection’s Reinkaos. This was an exceptional week filled with new-to-me albums. Spirit Adrift’s “Enlightened in Eternity” stayed on the list, and is one of my favorite 2020 releases. Wayfarer’s “A Romance With Violence” is an awesome new black metal album with an “old west” motif that blew me away. Undeath’s new drop, “Lesions of a Different Kind,” might be the filthiest death metal album this year. I got an old Silberbach tape, “Inferno,” that carries the torch for German BM nicely. ALBUMS OF THE WEEK. Here are the nine albums that got the most plays from me this week. The winner was Haunt’s new drop, “Triumph.” This is comprised of newly re-recorded versions of Haunt’s first two EPs (Luminous Eyes and Mosaic Vision). It’s wonderful to hear these songs reimagined like this. Also, I just discovered Silberbach this week. This is angry melodic black metal from Germany. Their 2009 album, There Will Be Blood, is an interesting mix of Finnish and Norwegian styles. Great on repeated listens. 1. Haunt - Triumph 2. Panzerfaust - The Suns of Perdition: Chapter II 3.
