Carmen (they/them)
Drow. One of Silas's oldest and dearest friends. He doesn't know what he'd do without them. Very much a take no shit kind of person. Has called Silas out on many, many things over the years.

Giovanni "Lucky" Fortunada (he/him)
Half-elf. Gio to most people. Lucky to the chosen few, which include Silas, Carmen, and Lina. Silas's righthand man for decades. His other best friend, though Lucky came into his life later than Carmen.
Both of them were very involved in raising Lina. She called Lucky her uncle, but truly Carmen and Lucky were both more like extra parents.
As far as Carmen knows, Silas and Lucky both died. They were killed during a coup that upended Silas's whole organization. Carmen was never that involved in the work, and they went to ground as soon as shit went sideways, mourning the loss of their two closest friends.
As far as Silas knows, Lucky died that day. Because of Silas. Because he had failed, and his whole life collapsed, and his best friend was dead, and it was a sheer gods damned miracle that he wasn't dead, too.
So he let the world think he had died when he was supposed to, and he fled to survive another day, to see his daughter again.
Only Lucky knows the truth of it all. He planned the coup. He faked his own death. He knows Silas survived, but that knowledge getting out wouldn't do him any good, so he's kept it to himself. Mostly. He's sent a few people and one cat to solve this problem, not that any of them have succeeded yet.
