John Juniper watched as his lover looked at him with a pained smile as the nukes fired. Reginald's face was pale, fighting back the tears as he tried to steady himself.

"John, why?" Reginald choked, trying to dry his tears as his fists clenched as he stood in front of him, the cold from the body of the field agent—the agent John named—in front of him. They were cold from the accurate shot he gave. "You have everything, John. You had... wasn't I enough for you?"

Bingi sa panalanging [Deaf to the prayers] Ang mga luha'y maibabalik [For tears to be returned] Mabuti nang aking mga salita [It's better for my words] 'Di mo na naririnig [If you didn't hear them]

Despite memorizing multiple monologues, John Juniper couldn't find the words as the sirens blared for the upcoming fallout.

Reginald's eyes burned with fury as he tried to hold back the tears. His fists were clenched as he tried to fight the tears.

Sa ilalim ng mga bituin [Under the stars] Ang marilag mong diwa 'di na muling madadampi [Your beautiful spirit's not going to brush against me once more] Mga ngiti mo'y ayaw nang mapalayo [Your smiles don't want to go far] Kanela mong mga mata'y 'wag na sanang lumingon [May your cinnamon eyes never turn my way]

John doesn't know when but when he came to himself, Reginald was already gone, giving him a look as he carried all traces of him away from the scene.

He was left standing in the ruins of Zoraxis defense as operatives crowded around him to shield him from the incoming radiation.

Kahit nawawala sa katahimikan [Even if things are lost in the silence*] Bahagi ng pusong naiwan [Part of the heart that was left behind]

John turned to the other side of the bed, feeling the lack of weight as the partner he thought would stay with him left him behind.

He tried to fight the tears as he screamed into his pillow.

Dito na naman [Here you are again] Kinakagat na lang aking dila [I'll just bite my tongue] 'Di bibitawan [Won't let go] Hahabulin ang pait na nadama [I'll chase after the feeling of bitterness]

Staring in the mirror didn't help much as his body tensed from the smell of the amount he'd drank the night before.

The bags in his eyes were heavy as he tried to catch his breath.

"It turns out... he was an enemy all along. But..." He tried to fight the tears as he took in a quiet breath to stabilize his tears.

Lagi sa panalangin [Always in prayers] Mga luha mo'y 'di na babalik [Your tears can't be returned] At kahit sa'n ka man dalhin [And wherever you're brought] Maiwan na ang bigat natin [May the weight we carry be left behind]

John found himself staring at the photograph that contained him and Reginald, trying to avoid staining it as he laid on the floor, clutching Reginald's jacket as a source of comfort.

Hawakan nang mahigpit [Hold onto it tightly] Palalim nang palalim [It gets deeper and deeper] Mga boses na ikaw binabanggit [The voices that mention your name] Parami nang parami [Keeps growing and growing]

He knows. John knows it was his fault. But what was the point? Even if people asked where Reginald is, he can't admit it.

And people will ask. But what lie can he say without ruining either of them in the trap he got both of them in?

"He lied too." He sniffled, taking a glance at the bottle he was holding before turning away and just wishing Zor will talk to him instead.

*I'm not sure how to translate this line.
