crazy that i can’t look into windows at night without imagining lifetimes that aren’t mine. How each home is slowly warmed up by families and silhouettes. How each plant pressed up against the glass has to be cleaned and watered. How each kitchen has had a person at its stove dancing to songs i may have never heard. The heartbreak, the unknown singing, the loneliness compartmentalized itself into a sellable glass box. I think to myself, I’ll be there one day, with the fear and excitement of being reborn again and again and again by an unobservable stranger standing below my window.
