Jimin had been sure that he had somekind of feelings for his best friend for a long time. Well…of course it wasnormal to like your friends, but what he was feeling was way beyond the simplelittle word ‘like’.

What had started as a tiny little crush haddeveloped in something bigger, something scary and…something painful.

“Are…you sure?” Seokjin asked, as soon asJimin had finally spilled his secret to his older brother. “I mean…you andTaehyung were kinda close since…forever. Don’t you think you may beinterpreting too much into your feelings? Maybe you just think you’re crushing on him because he’s important to you.”

“Hyung, do you really think that I haven’tasked myself these questions several times already??” Jimin sighed heavily,running a distressed hand through his hair. “Tae is…he’s different, okay? Idon’t feel about him the same way as I do about my other friends. He’s special;he’s special to me. And…I’m just really, reallyin love with him.”

Seokjin sighed as he noticed the faint tearsforming in his little brother’s eyes. “Jiminnie…if you’re so sure about whatyou’re feeling, you should tell him. With how Taehyung acts around you, thechances are good that he likes you as well. And even if he doesn’t feel likeyou do, he wouldn’t be mad or disgusted or whatever, because it’s you. He cares about you, Jiminnie.”

“But if I tell him the truth and he doesn’tfeel the same…it’ll get awkward between us. He won’t ever look at me the sameagain and I don’t think that I could stand that. He’s just way too important tome to risk it.”

“But if you never tell him, you will neverknow. And being rejected may be good to help you get over him” Seokjin saidsoftly, wrapping his arm around his younger brother’s shoulders. “Like this you’lljust hurt even more. And you will keep asking yourself what his answer wouldbe.”

“I know…” Jimin sighed and leaned his headagainst the other’s shoulder. “I’ll…tell him. At the right time. I don’t wantto just throw it at him; I’ll ask him if we can hang out and I’ll…tell him whenthe time’s right, okay?”

Seokjin nodded slowly. “Just…don’t push thetopic away for too long. This may feel like jumping into ice cold water, butyou have to take the step to feel better again.”

“WillI feel better? Even if he rejects me?”

Seokjin’s ‘of course’ wasn’t as convincing asJimin would’ve liked.

“You want to hang out?” Taehyung askedexcitedly and Jimin didn’t fight the bright smile this time; when Taehyungcouldn’t see him through the phone.

“Yeah…this Saturday. My parents will bevisiting relatives this weekend and hyung will…go out.” At least if I tell him to leave us alone.

“Cool! Should we just hang out at your place?I got some cool new games for my birthday and we didn’t get to play themtogether yet.”

Jimin could hear the pout in Taehyung’s voiceand his happy smile turned into a bitter one. God, why did I have to fall in love with you?

“That would be great. Hyung got me a new gamelast week and I didn’t try it out by now. Bring some movies too, okay?” Jiminsaid, letting his head drop on the pillow on his bed.

“Will do!! I kinda missed hanging out with youfrequently the last weeks, so I’m glad you called. Sucks that you were so busyall the time.” Taehyung let out a playful little whine and Jimin sighed softly.

He had always rejected his best friend’sinvitation to doing something together, because he was too scared of speakingup about his feelings. But he decided that it was time to finally tell Taehyung how he feels. He had procrastinated doing it for nearly two months, butnow he couldn’t push it up further.

Jimin had to tell his friend the truth, evenif it meant risking their nearly 18 years of friendship.

“Okay then…be over at six..?” Jimin mumbled.

“Yes, Sir!!” Taehyung said and Jimin could seehim saluting in his inner eye.

He shook his head with a little grin as hesaid his goodbyes and hung up the phone.

“God” Jimin whined as he rolled to his bellyto bury his face in the pillow.

Saturday.Saturday I will tell him. Saturday he will know. Saturday I’ll get my answer.

 “Okay, so…something really exciting happened on Thursday, youwon’t believe me!!” Taehyung nearly yelled suddenly, halfway through a romanticcomedy. “I completely forgot that I didn’t tell you yet!”

Tell him, Park Jimin, tell him!!

Jimin groaned internally. That was the nthtime he was trying to get himself to say those few, deadly sentences, but hecouldn’t force a single word through his lips.

“What is it?” Jimin asked with a little smile,too nervous to be really interested in whatever happened to his best friend.

Tellhim. You have to tell him.

“Okay so…you know that I have that reallylame maths class on Thursday afternoons, yeah? So…there are so many boring peoplein that class; I’m not really friends with anyone so I have to live throughthat whole shit on my own…” Taehyung began.

Tellhim. Park Jimin, tell him!

“But last Thursday the teacher came in together with a random guy I’venever seen before. And he introduced him as our new classmate. I know; it’sweird that he changed schools in the middle of the schoolyear, but he had a ‘personalreason’ for it. I don’t know what that reason was, I bet his family moved andhis parents are good friends with the principal or something. Anyways…”

You haveto tell him, come on! It can’t be that hard.

“So there’s an empty spot beside me and the teacher sends the new guystraight next to me. So I looked up at him kinda bored, but then he smiles atme so damn brightly and he has thosecute little dimples in his cheeks, GOD.But yeah…that guy sits next to me and…”

Okay.Collect your words. It can’t be that hard, Jimin.

“…he kept smiling at me and he introduced himself. His name is Hoseok,doesn’t it sound cute?? Hoseok. Well…afterclass he suddenly asked me if I could show him around so I said yes and when wewere in an empty corridor he suddenly kissedme. And I was so confused, because…I know that guy for a few hours and here he is kissing me.”

Say it. ‘I’min love with you’. Say it, Jimin. Six words. I am in love with you.

“And well, we went out to grab ice creamafterwards and then he-“

“I’m in love with you.”

“-asked me out and long story short we’re dating now…wait WHAT?!”

Jimin felt like his whole heart was rippedapart right in the middle and while one of the halves rushed down to drop to thebottom of his stomach, the other rose to his throat to choke him.

Badtiming, the mean little voice in his head whispered and Jimin couldn’t helpbut agree.

“Did you just say you’re dating someone??”

“Did you just say you’re in love with me?!?”

Jimin felt tears starting to form in his eyesand before he had to meet his best friend’s confusing, soft brown eyes, henearly jumped up from the sofa.

“You should go” he said in an unnaturally highvoice, hysterically darting his eyes around the whole room in the desperateattempt to keep his tears from running down his cheeks.

“Jiminnie” Taehyung whispered softly, his facescrunching up in something resembling pity and distress. “Jiminnie, I’m sosorry…”

“Don’t.” Jimin shook his head and turned awayso his best friend couldn’t see the tears that had finally managed to escapehis eyes. “Close the door after yourself” he whispered in a shaky voice, beforenearly storming out of the living room and upstairs to his room.

It took Jimin two months before hestopped ignoring Taehyung’s calls and messages.

It took him four months to accept that Hoseokwas still pretty much Taehyung’s boyfriend and that they would probably betogether for a long time.

It took him five months to stop plottingmurdering Hoseok in his head.

It took him a half year until he could hangout with the two of them without hating every second of it.

“So…we were planning to go to that summerparty this evening and you are totally coming with us” Taehyung said from hisspot on Hoseok’s lap and Jimin sighed.

“Not interested. But thank you for yourinvitation.”

“Ugh, Jiminnie!!” Taehyung whined, climbingoff his boyfriend’s lap to drape himself all over Jimin from the side. “Pleeeeeeaaaaaaaaseeeeeeeeeee~”

“I would go. He can be really persistent”Hoseok scoffed, sending Jimin a light grin.

Jimin bit back his answer of ‘I know; I’veknown him for a longer time than you do, asshole’ and instead muttered the morepolite version. “I know. But I really don’t want to go to any party…”

“You may get to know someone there~” Taehyungcooed in his ear. “Please, Jiminnie, please, please, please, please, please,please, please, please…”

“OKAY, I’LL GO, BUT SHUT UP!!”

“Yay!!” Taehyung grinned and ruffled Jimin’shair. “I’m hungry, are you hungry?” He got up and planted a little kiss onHoseok’s lips before skipping over to the phone to order take out.

“He’s one of a kind” Hoseok chuckled.

Jimin smiled a little. “Yeah, he really is.”

“I don’t wanna be here,Taehyunggggggg~” Jimin whined as his best friend pulled him into the club thesummer party was at.

“You just need some alcohol and you will have onehell of a time!” Taehyung promised, his hand tightly intertwined with Hoseok’s.“Now go, get yourself a drink, I’ll take my sexy boyfriend dancing~”

Jimin was happy to find that he didn’t feel the urge to punch Hoseok’ssmirk right off his face as he dragged Taehyung to the dance floor.

Everythingis coming together.

That actually made him smile as he made hisway over to the bar.

“What would you like to drink?” the bartenderasked, before he could even get a glance at the menu.

“Just…give me something with alcohol” Jimin muttered,without looking up. He glanced back over his shoulder and grimaced a littlewhen his eyes quickly found Taehyung and Hoseok near-dry-humping on the dancefloor. “Much alcohol.”

The bartender chuckled as he turned around tomix his drink and Jimin glanced up to find a nicely sculptured back with broadshoulders and a manly, strong nape.

Not bad,he thought, tongue darting out to wet his lower lip a little.

A little smirk stretched his lips as his gazewandered down shamelessly to a firm, round butt and delicious thighs in blackskinny jeans. Not bad at all.

“I hope this one is strong enough” thebartender said as he turned around to place the colourful drink in front ofhim.

Jimin grinned as he scanned the other’syouthful yet sharp and handsome face. “Thank you.” He made to dig his walletout of his jacket’s pocket, but the other stopped him.

“Free of charge” the bartender said and winkedat him before leaving to take someone else’s order.

Jimin contentedly sipped on the delicious drink.

“Still hate it here?” a slightly pantingTaehyung asked as he pushed his way through to stand next to him. “I totallyjust saw you flirting with that bartender.”

Jimin only grinned with his lips wrappedaround the straw.

Taehyung smiled at him fondly, jumping alittle when Hoseok turned up behind him to wrap his arms around his waist andbury his face in the younger’s neck.

“I guess it’s okay here” Jimin said andTaehyung laughed.

“More than just okay, I guess” he muttered, hisvoice dragging out into a little gasp when a slightly tipsy Hoseok startedtrailing kisses over his neck.

“Go find a room, you two.” Jimin rolled hiseyes when Hoseok kept obviously groping Taehyung everywhere. “You’re still inpublic.”

“Yeah, we tend to forget that” Hoseok purred,nibbling on Taehyung’s earlobe, before stepping back with a firm grip onTaehyung’s wrist. “Bye Jimin.”

“Bye Jiminnie” Taehyung eagerly said, beforeHoseok dragged him away.

“Bye horny people” Jimin scoffed to himself ashe took another sip of his drink.

“Tastes good?” that familiar voice spoke upagain and Jimin’s eyes crinkled up in a smile as he glanced back at thehandsome bartender.

“Very good. It’s delicious.”

“Good to know. I’ll…be done at 2 AM.”

Jimin wiggled his eyebrows at the slightlynervous little grin on the other’s lips. “Good to know” Jimin cooed seductively,making the other smirk a bit.

“I’m Jungkook, by the way” he said, beforesomeone else called for him.

Jimin couldn’t help but smile at how thingsturned out to be.

I guess I’mokay again.
