Chuuya
Chuuya is absolutely devastated, he’s already lost so many people he’s loved and now you too? He’s heart broken. He tries his best not to let it show though, this isn’t about him.
He gets the best doctors, nurses, treatments, etc, for you. If he has to drive 2 hours to get you to an appointment? He’ll make sure the car is comfy for you. If you have to move to be closer to a hospital? He’ll make sure it has a nice view, good ventilation, and doesn’t have too many stairs..
Chuuya definitely has an in home nurse for you. He can’t be around 24/7, sadly.. (He definitely tries though.) But he makes sure theres always someone to take care of you.
He probably also sends his men, Tachihara, or Higuchi to check on you. He would send Gin or Akutagawa but they’re a little rough around the edges..
I think he definitely gets you all of those little gadgets that make things more accessible. Ex. A jar opener because the illness definitely destroys your physical strength. He knows how important it is to he able to maintain some sense of independence.
Even though he can’t stay with you 24/7 as soon as he does get home he’s all over you. His arms are wrapped around your waist, and he’s running his fingers through your hair.
Whenever you do have treatments or appointments he holds your hand, and gives you so much praise.
“Shh. It’s alright, you’re doing so good..”
After the appointment? Expect to be pampered like royalty. Blankets, hot cocoa/tea, whatever movie you wanna watch, and cuddles. Lots of them.
Chuuya also takes the opportunity to get you a service dog as soon as it presents itself. Probably a German Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog, or a Boxer. He definitely has favorites.. But if you want a golden retriever you’re getting a golden retriever.
Overall he does whatever he can to keep you comfortable, happy, and as healthy possible.
Dazai
Dazai felt like this was some cruel sick joke. He couldn’t believe it. He finally felt happy and it was being stripped away from him.
He wonders if this is some sort of punishment for all the pain he caused while in the port mafia. Now he has to watch his love one die a slow painful death.
He thinks about you the entire day. While doing paperwork, while on missions, while negotiating deals..
He’s definitely used it as an excuse to get out of work.
He also actually does more of his work so he can just get home faster.
He’s less reckless, he doesn’t want to get injured or die. He needs to take care of you. You need him to take care of you.
He does his best to keep you comfortable. After a long, boring day at the agency, he comes back to his apartment and flops into bed with you.
He does his best to reassure you. Especially when you start getting insecure once the illness takes a toll on your appearance.
He definitely tries to get you to leave the apartment at least once a week. Sunlight is good for you, you know.
“Hey, I was thinkin’ we could go on a walk tomorrow afternoon. Im supposedd to be doing something with Kunikida..”
Dazai does genuinely consider killing himself after you die, but you make him promise not to. That doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t, but he’ll try not to.
A lot of the things Dazai does for you are small, little acts of love. Bringing you pastries on his way home from work, making sure your favorite blanket is always clean, he makes sure the apartment is always warm, and makes sure your pajamas are always clean, etc..
One time you skipped your meds when you were feeling especially burdensome, and now Dazai watches you take them every single day.
He makes sure to keep an eye on your mental health along with your physical health.
He just wants to make sure your happy and comfy for the next few months..
Fyodor
Okay I really can’t see Fyodor with a partner he didn’t manipulate / coerce into that position so this is based off of that.
He immediately uses your illness as a manipulation tactic. He blames it on ‘dirty ability users’ and ‘sinners’ for corrupting and contaminating you.
Not much changes since he already hardly let you leave his side before. You still sit in his lap as he works, just now with a blanket and your head on his shoulder.
He chides you whenever you try to do anything on your own or ‘strain’ yourself.
He definitely patronizes you (even more) now. I can see him enforcing some sort of schedule or something.
Like as an example if your meds make you tired he might make you lie down or take a nap for an hour or so after you take your meds.
It’s a little difficult for him to make sure you get treatments considering he’s a Russian terrorist in Japan.. but he does his best!
He probably abducted a nurse or something.
Overall he definitely takes it pretty well, probably because he just doesn’t really value human life. He definitely sees you as expendable Im sorry.
Ranpo
He immediately blames himself. He thinks he should’ve noticed you were sick sooner. How could he have not noticed? He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective.
His demeanor definitely changes pretty hard, he’s probably a little less childish.. He just struggles to remain super happy and playful when his partner is literally dying.
He does his best though. Mainly for your sake.
He would bring you hella snacks. Even if your doctor put you on a strict diet he’d still find a way.
He starts to take chores and stuff way more seriously. He doesn’t want your last few months to be spent washing dishes and doing laundry.
He would definitely do his best to keep your moral pretty high. Maybe he’d adopt a cat or something.
He’s pretty perceptive of how you’re feeling, mentally and physically. So if you’re feeling really down and depressed, expect tons of attention and cuddles.
If you’re feeling super sick physically he’d probably call out of work, (if he can.)
But also I doubt he would actually call out. He just probably wouldn’t show up.
He would finally learn how the trains work so he could make sure you get to appointments on time.
Although if the appointment isn’t with a specialist I can see him just bringing you to Yosano.
He probably asks her tons of questions about how to keep you comfortable while trying to make it seem like he isn’t super worried since he hates appearing vulnerable.
Since Ranpo is still relatively young, physical and at heart, I think this would be a defining life experience for him. Like yes Chuuya and Dazai are both fairly young as well, but I don’t think this would shape their life as much as this would for Ranpo.
