Hi there! This is a weird question but if anyone would know I’ve got the feeling it’s you - I found this signed poster a few years back at a consignment store in the USA but I can’t for the life of me figure out who the cast is/what show it’s from. Do any of these signatures/names look familiar to you? Your knowledge of poto history is both amazing and intimidating and I thought I’d give this a shot, thanks so much!!
First of all... I didn’t know you could send photos through asks. O.O
Second, I hate deciphering signatures and I probably got them badly wrong, but I gave it a shot and here’s what I got. I managed to decipher two of the signatures as Chip Huddleston and Larry Wayne Morbitt, which narrowed it down to either the second national tour or Broadway. I then spotted a Gary Mauer along the right edge of the mask and a Howard McGillin in the middle of the mask, which places it on Broadway (at which point many names started to stand out as being Broadway Phantom regulars). Finally, there’s what looks to be a Sandra Joseph in the top right corner, so that narrows it to sometime between August 2000 and July 2001, or thereabouts.
So if my deciphering is correct, then overall: Broadway production, somewhere midway through 2000 until midway into 2001, when the cast was something like this: Howard McGillin (Phantom), Sandra Joseph (Christine), Lisa Vroman (alternate Christine), Gary Mauer (Raoul), Liz McCartney (Carlotta), Jeff Keller (Firmin), George Lee Andrews (Andre), Lelia Martin (Madame Giry), Larry Wayne Morbitt (Piangi), and Joelle Gates (Meg).
