While Wee Cho Yaw is the most documented Singaporean investor with Kinmen roots, the Xiao Zhong Lin Residence is but one place where they are being commemorated. Xiao Zhong Lin (蕭忠林) was a wealthy overseas Chinese merchant from Kinmen who made his fortune in Indonesia during the early 20th century. After achieving success abroad, he returned to Kinmen and built this compound.
