Warnings: Anger and fear
 Someone was in his room.
 Someone was in his room.
And Virgil had a sneaky suspicion on who that someone might be.
How he was hiding himself from sight, Virgil didn’t know. But he knew he was in here, somewhere, and wherever he was, Virgil was going to find him. He was done running away, if Deceit was in his room, he would make him get out.
“Stop hiding! I know you're here!” Virgil practically growled out, voice booming, and prowling almost like a cat around his room in search of the dark side.
Patton wasn’t sure how he had gotten into Virgil’s room.
Or why he was only a few inches tall.
But he had been meaning to reveal himself the moment Virgil walked in. Unfortunately, it seemed Virgil had already sensed his presence but...the wrong presence. Hence the unfortunately.
And now Virgil was angry and his eyes were glowing and his voice was doing that thing. All that paired with his new size and Patton couldn’t help but be scared. He pressed his back against the leg of the bed, watching as Virgil’s shadow passed him by and went over to look in his closet.
Patton took a deep breath. He had no reason to be scared. Sure, Virgil was angry but not at him. Once Virgil saw that it was Patton in his room, Virgil should calm down. And then they could focus on getting him back to normal. Yeah, so all he had to do was reveal himself and everything would be okay.
Except...his body didn’t move. He was frozen there, up against the leg of the bed, his body not getting the message his brain was trying to send it. He didn’t want to be afraid of Virgil but it didn’t seem like he was being given much of a choice on that.
Suddenly, a shadow loomed over him. At first, Patton thought it was just Virgil passing him by again. But then he noticed the way the shadow stopped and then the giant hand snaking around his hiding spot and coming right towards him.
Patton couldn’t help but let out a scream.Â
He tried to run but it was fruitless. The hand was faster. It wrapped around his waist and squeezed just a little too tight before bringing him out into the open. Patton tried very hard not to lose himself to fear but it was hard in the position he was now in.
“Gotcha!” Virgil shouted, making Patton wish he could cover his ears. Unfortunately, his arms were stuck at his sides, thanks to Virgil’s harsh grip. “Freaking finally.” The last part was more muttered under his breath than out loud but Patton was still able to hear it loud and clear.
Patton felt himself start to rise up towards Virgil’s face. “Alright you lying snake, what are you doing in my—“ The rest of Virgil’s sentence got stuck in his throat as he saw the side he had in his grip. It wasn’t Deceit like he had thought. No, it was Patton.
Virgil finally seemed to notice his tight grip and quickly opened his fist, allowing Patton to sit freely in his open palm. “Patton! I-I’m so sorry, I didn’t know it was you.” Virgil apologized, looking Patton over to make sure the dad side was okay. “I-I didn’t hurt you, d-did I?”
Patton felt the fear slowly dissipate as Virgil finally calmed down. He sent Virgil a soft smile. “No, you didn’t. I’m okay, I promise.” Patton did his best to reassure him.
Virgil searched him for a moment longer before letting out a sigh of relief. “Okay, okay that’s good. I’m glad.” Virgil used his free hand to rub the back of his neck sheepishly. He was glad Patton was okay but he knew he probably freaked the poor guy out. “I’m sorry, again.”
“It’s okay, I get it. Sorry I didn’t reveal myself sooner, I just...couldn’t.” Patton said, looking down slightly. Virgil hummed but didn’t say anything more on it. Instead, he focused on something a bit more important.
“Uh, why are you so small?” Virgil asked, prodding Patton on the side gently. Patton squirmed slightly, unused to the feeling before frowning at the question.
“Actually, I don’t know. I’m not sure how I got in your room either. I just suddenly woke up here, like this.” He gestured at himself, indicating his size.
Virgil frowned. “Huh, that’s...not good.” That was really not good. It looked like maybe Deceit was involved after all. “But, uh, don’t worry. I’m sure we’ll figure out a way to turn you back to normal.”
“Oh, I’m not worried!” Patton said with a grin. Virgil couldn’t help but smile at Patton’s optimism. He was even cuter at this small size.
“I guess it’s good that you aren’t panicking at least,” Virgil said before cupping his other hand around the hand holding Patton to make sure he didn’t fall as he moved towards the door. “Let’s go see Logan, maybe he’ll have an idea on how to fix this.”
 “Good idea kiddo!”Â
