The Star Beyond the Script
Shraddha Srinath has never taken the obvious route.
Growing up across army postings taught her how to arrive in unfamiliar places, observe quickly and build a sense of belonging. That adaptability later followed her from law and corporate contracts into cinema.
Before acting, Shraddha worked in real estate law, where precision, negotiation and attention to detail became part of her professional instinct. When U Turn changed how filmmakers saw her, she chose patience over momentum—turning down roles rather than settling for work she did not believe in.
“I don’t settle for less and I don’t celebrate mediocrity,” she says.
Her preparation is equally deliberate. For Irugapatru, she created an entire emotional history for her character Mitra, even though much of it would never appear on screen. For Shraddha, the unseen work is what makes a character feel real.
Beyond cinema, she finds meaning in travel, local culture, thrifted fashion and the everyday rhythms of a city. Bengaluru remains the place that anchored her, while every new destination continues to feed the explorer in her.
Her philosophy is simple:
“Most importantly, stay open to adventure. That’s what changes everything.”
