If Biden dies, Harris takes over

If Biden deteriorates to the point of being unable to perform his duties (personally I consider this unlikely but I digress), Harris invokes the 25th

If Biden feels he can no longer perform his duties he steps down and let's Harris take over

Which is more than I can say for trump or the lunatic he'll choose for a vp

And that last point about Biden stepping down is important, Biden's sharper than people give him credit for, I do think he intends to serve a full term if reelected, but I do think he's also considered the possibility of being reelected, serving a year or two in that term, and then stepping down and letting Harris take over

Of course the thing with Harris is people right now are transparently trying to do to her what they did to Hillary leading up to 2016, and infuriatingly, people either don't see it or they're falling for it again!

It's the most fucking overblown thing ever, and represents the usual insane double standard. The media mentions Biden's age ALL THE TIME, and yet doesn't mention that Trump is just three years younger at 77, demonstrably in far worse physical shape, and clearly on the express train to senility. Whereas Biden is fit, active, bikes, works out, and otherwise is fine. Is he old? Yes. Who cares? He knows how to do the job and he is certainly a hell of a lot healthier than say, Mitch McConnell (81), who has openly frozen up on TV twice and plainly is not well. If it was Biden doing that ONCE, let alone twice, the media would be howling nonstop bloody murder. McConnell? Eh. Footnote.

Also, a lot of the scaremongering about Biden's age is directly related to scaremongering about Harris. If you vote for him and then he doesn't finish his term for whatever reason, A WOMAN OF COLOR WILL BECOME PRESIDENT AND BE IN CHARGE OF THIS COUNTRY!!!! That is the underlying message. Of course there is a system that handles it if the president, God forbid, should happen to die in office. But Oh Noes It's Scary Female Brown Kamala. Do you want to risk your vote for Biden knowing that ____SHEEEEE_____ might end up finishing his term in some capacity!?!?! She is scary! And brown! And female! And brown!!! We can't let her be in charge!!!

Honestly, I haven't really considered him in a while and I'd have to rewatch all of his scenes + reread the book once or twice to get a better of what worked and what didn't in the way he was changed for the big screen.

His death feels pretty anticlimactic from what I remember. (10 minutes into BoFA?? Like... That's it?)

Also the action scene at the end of DoS where they try to kill him with the gold statue is pretty silly (pointless theatrics, there was no way any of it was ever going to work and they all get roasted so. many. times with how close to dragon fire they get) but I admit I really like the visuals when he's covered in molten gold and flying off. It's pretty if nothing else.

But I have another point to raise

Are the fight scenes truly "epic" in V 1-3, or were there just so many (I think CRWBY is more restrained with the # of fights now) and were they so flashy/showy that they distracted us from their flaws?

What are your thoughts?

I wouldn’t say they dropped in quality so much as they changed styles. 

Monty’s style of fighting animation was, well, Monty’s. It was fast, it was frantic, it was fluid. Is it replicable? More than likely, yes. 

Would it be fair to all the animators in CRWBY to force them to recreate the animation style of a single man in every fight scene going forward? No. No it wouldn’t be. 

And to be completely honest, an absolute ton of my favourite fights weren’t done by Monty. His fights are spectacular, but in the spectacle he sometimes lost the substance. He was always trying to make it look more awesome, but sometimes that’s just not the answer. 

Post-Monty, a lot of the fights feel like they have more narrative weight, more consequence. A good fight is supposed to be a narrative in itself. But some of Monty’s fights ended up feeling lacking in such a narrative, instead being just spectacle. Is this simply a result of how the narrative has evolved, now that there’s weight to the narrative itself the the early days lacked? Maybe. But we’ll never know for sure. 

The only non-city environment seen is a soaked forest because 90% of all cw stuff is filmed in the washington/british columbia area

Hi!  I think, from Vader’s point of view, that’s something that could work, because the dark side would twist him into believing it, but I’m pretty sure one of the hallmarks of being a slave is that you’re not allowed to leave and Anakin absolutely knew he was able to leave.  At any time. He knows it in Obi-Wan & Anakin:

Not only does Anakin know that he can leave, he plans to.  And he even expresses that it’s not like he wouldn’t come back, showing that he doesn’t hold any ill will against them or consider them to be holding him there against his will. Further, Ahsoka leaves the Jedi Order, Anakin literally watches her do it:

So my brother and I were having a discussion about Damien Wayne, and a very interesting point my brother made was that he think Damien should develop his own superhero identity, sorta like what Dick Grayson did, Damien needs his own sort of "nightwing" identity, as according to my brother, this suits Damien more than becoming Batman

I very much agree, as noted in my Cassandra Cain video, I feel Damian becoming Batman doesn't really work as a character arc/development for him.

As I outlined there its basically: "My grandfather said I want it, so I want to be Batman, but I am too young, so I will sidekick to Batman and then become Batman."

There’s a quote from Shatterpoint that I really like in regards to this:

Basically, it doesn’t matter how good your intentions are, once you get caught up in the dark side, once you give up resisting temptation and let yourself be controlled by your emotions, by a desire to dominate and hurt - your intentions will matter less and less. You’ll get so caught up in “the ends justifies the means” that it’ll erode more and more of your moral boundaries, with the promise that the ends will make it all worth it, but you’ll never achieve your ends because power itself becomes that end, your initial intentions faded far beneath. That’s how the dark side works.

Okay so YES, I have noticed this.

I feel like that’s partially fully and absolutely my fault.

I say this for two reasons:

Reason 1 -

The delivery of May’s lines in her scene in V7 is incredibly condicending toward Marrow, and literally dripping with sarcasm. (I’m so sorry Marrow, I know you’re a good boy, and I absolutely love you, but bruh pls, Robyn has priority, and I have work that needs to get done and you’re in my way.)

There were some less sarcastic lines/scenes she had, but they were cut for time (and no, before anyone asks, I can’t talk about them in detail).

So you all only have FULL SASS May as your only onscreen interaction with her, thus far. And when it comes to being sarcastic I dialed her levels up to MAX with my voice.

Reason 2-

Because of ~all that~, I feel people have gone into “filling in the blanks” for the rest.

You all know bits of her background, a decent part of her personality, and her reasonings for what she is doing because of flavor text and context clues.

But the rest of those filling in of the blanks, I think, come from how I am personally. Which, by the way, I’m flattered.

I feel a lot of those “I’m about to end this man’s whole career” or “-meme reference-“ moments are totally coming from my unending need to shitpost.

...all of which I’m totally okay with!

And I say this everytime, but I do hope you all continue to enjoy May (and of course my performance as her)!
