Short and small framed transmale advice on clothes.
As a transmale who is barely 5 feet 1 inches tall or 1.5 meters tall and 112 pounds with lean muscle. Finding clothes that fit can be difficult.
1. It's not the end of the world.
2. You're not less of a man because you're below average height or your lean build.
3. The measuring tape and the vast system of size charts online are your best friends. I should know as a fashion design major.
4. Don't be afraid to shop the kids section, you can get designer clothing for less and the more classy the piece the more mature. Unless you're a guy who has a thing for embracing cuteness, no judgment there at all.
5. Have fun, you get a chance to investigate what cut can help you pass and figure out a style(s) you like better.
6. Great things come in small packages, confidence is key.
Today I went through security at the airport and the TSA guy looked at me (17), looked at my younger brother (15) and told me that I didn’t need to take my shoes off for security. But they told him that he needed to take his off. Guys. You gotta be 12 or under to keep your shoes on 😂
I’ve made so many searches in the last 24 hours on Google with the word “boys” in them and seen so many pictures of children that I wouldn’t be surprised if the FBI broke down my door to arrest me.
(For the record, I’m 5 foot 5 with really short arms and I’m just trying to find a fucking coat/jacket I like that actually fits me and has sleeves that don’t completely hide my hands because apparently I am the size of a child.)
