It started with a shadow. Kyle was laying back on the blanket, sunglasses on, hands behind his head. Hozhoni was half on top of him, tracing patterns on his arm. Roach and Rain were sitting cross-legged by the cooler. Rain opened it dramatically.
“Behold,” she announced, “snacks.”
Roach leaned in. “You actually brought real food?”
“Obviously.”
She pulled out sandwiches wrapped in foil, fruit, chips, cookies—and then it happened. A blur of white and wings descended like divine judgment. Kyle heard Rain gasp.
Roach yelled, “OI—”
And in one swift, disrespectful motion, a seagull snatched an entire sandwich out of Rain’s hand and took off. There was a full three seconds of silence. Rain stared at her empty hand.
“…Did that bird just rob me?”
Hozhoni sat up slowly. “It did.”
Roach stood. “Absolutely not.”
Kyle pushed his sunglasses down. “Do not fight the wildlife.”
But Roach was already scanning the sky like he was tracking a criminal.
“That was turkey,” Rain whispered, deeply offended. “I was looking forward to that.”
Another shadow passed overhead. Kyle saw it too late. Second seagull. This one dove straight into the open cooler.
Chaos.
Rain screamed.Roach lunged. Hozhoni grabbed the bag of chips like it was a newborn child.
Kyle jumped up just in time to watch a seagull drag half a cookie pack into the sky. “Close it!” Kyle shouted.
Roach slammed the cooler shut. They all stood there breathing hard. Wind whipped across the sand dramatically. Rain looked devastated. “That was personal.”
Hozhoni tried not to laugh. Failed immediately. Roach pointed at the sky. “You feathered thief!”
Kyle ran a hand down his face. “We got outsmarted by birds.”
Rain crossed her arms. “This beach is hostile.”
As if summoned by her words— A strong gust of wind hit. Their blanket flipped. The beach umbrella tilted violently. And both towels—Hozhoni’s and Rain’s—took off like they’d been waiting for their freedom moment. All four of them watched in slow motion as the towels sailed down the beach.
“…You’ve got to be kidding me,” Kyle muttered.
Rain pointed dramatically. “GO.”
Roach took off first, sprinting down the sand like it was the Olympics. Kyle chased after him. Hozhoni and Rain followed, laughing and yelling. The towels were halfway to another group of beachgoers when Roach dove and caught one mid-air. Kyle managed to stomp on the other before it escaped into the dunes. They stood there, out of breath, covered in sand, victorious.
Roach held up the towel like a trophy. “NOT TODAY.”
Rain ran up and jumped into his arms. “My hero!”
He grinned. “I fight birds and wind for you.”
Kyle walked back toward Hozhoni, brushing sand off himself, She was smiling at him like he’d just saved the world.
“You tackled a towel,” she said softly.
“For you? I’d tackle two.”
She laughed and wrapped her arms around his waist. Behind them, Rain pointed at the sky again. “If that seagull comes back, I’m squaring up.”
Roach nodded seriously. “We ride at dawn.”
Kyle looked at Hozhoni. Hozhoni looked at Kyle. They both burst out laughing. The beach tried to humble them. Instead, it just gave them another story.

Summary: OCTOBER 2016 - You were tasked to find Dr. Sebastian's failed experiment; Nurse Ann. As you walked into the basement where she was assembled, you were met with Sebastian's and several others' dead bodies. Though every bit of you screamed to leave, something about this lonely zombie compelled you to take her.
Tags/CW: second person POV, descriptions of a corpse (not overly detailed), blood, restraining, short chapter, WLW (doomed yuri), post-operation Ann
A/N: slow updates, sorry😞 none of this is canon! AO3 version here
October 12, 2016
The zombie-girl, clothed in a stained, white uniform, enviously eyed your red nail polish. She was sitting on the operating table, organizing tools from smallest to largest with careful precision. Limbs, a head, and hair were scattered around the floor like a makeshift rug. This was the malicious ‘creature’ you had been warned about. The creature made no effort to stand or to attack; she tilted her head and lifted her hand, attempting to wave—a sign that she was still partially human. Her gaze swept over your bloodied coat.
“Red,” she said, pointing at your coat. Then at your shiny nails. Her voice was husky and gruff. “Red.” Shakily, her finger pointed at her hair.
You tentatively nodded. Carefully, you moved around the discarded, severed head of what you presumed was Dr. Sebastian. His face was crushed into oblivion. All the details that could be identified was a twisted nose, an eyeball that had popped out, and his blond hair. Bzzzsz, went a fly as it crawled and chewed on the doctor’s decomposing face. This fate of his was inevitable and did not surprise you at all.
He was a pain in the ass to work with.
The zombie’s expression scrunched up as you approached. She shimmied down the table. It was difficult to feel empathy for this zombie. The way a stitch ran across her upper lip irked you.
The air was stuffy, reeking of blood and flesh. How does she survive in this atmosphere? And for how long, exactly?
A gas powered chainsaw idly sat by the zombie’s feet. She reached down for it, her hand aimlessly wandering before coming into contact with the weapon. The corners of her eyes crinkled.
“Peace,” you said. “I come in peace.”
The zombie tested the word. “Peace.”
“Yes. Peace.” You pushed the medical instruments away to make room on the table. You climbed up, keeping a fair distance away from the zombie (just in case she tries anything.) She paused. Her fingers, which were curled around the chainsaw handle, paused their movements. You hadn’t hurt her, or dragged her away yet. You were safe, she assumed.
Haha.
Not quite.
There was a reason you were sent here; they had tasked you to take this beast and bring her to the facility for observation.
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـﮩ٨ـ____________
“We’re counting on you to bring Sebastian’s unruly beast here without anybody losing a body part.”
You tried to ignore the way their gaze scrutinized you.
”Your instructions are unfairly vague,” you complained. “Do I kill it?”
”No. Find as many resources as you can. Examine every corner. I want to know how he managed to build it.”
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـﮩ٨ـ____________
Was there a non violent way to do this? It seemed like she’d tear you apart with the chainsaw in a couple of seconds now…! You grasp her cold, stitched arm. Your thumb ran through the bumpy ridges. She twitched, but hadn’t made an effort to recoil. Your eyes scan the floor once more.
“Tell me your name,” you whispered.
The zombie reached into her breast pocket and took out a flimsy white card. She slid it over to you before pulling her hand back. Picking up the ID, you read—
Annette Lusen M
Sex Female
DOB 10 /31/ 1988
H 163cm W 136lbs
Her surname had been scratched out on purpose.
With a raised eyebrow, you asked, “What’s your last name?”
Annette, the zombie, pondered. A spark of recognition flashed through her eyes, then it dimmed down. “I couldn’t tell you.”
“Could it be that you don’t remember, or you don’t want to tell me?”—had meant to come out as a teasing remark.
“I couldn’t tell you,” Annette repeated, this time with a hiss.
You compared the photo on the ID to the zombie in front of you. Traces of Annette Lusen M— still seeped through. The shape of her face, the curve of her nose, the shape of her mouth…soon, there won’t be any semblance at all. Well, from this day and forward, she was simply ‘Ann’ to you.
Swallowing down your grievances, you tucked the ID in your coat. Ann lunged forward, hanging onto your wrist. You jumped off of the operating table in a panic. “Who knows what you might do to me next, hm?! Before you know it, you’ll lose this, and all memory of your previous life is now gone.s For now, this stays with me.”
She clutched her breast, acting as if you had personally ripped her heart out. Right—the task! You’d be damned if you returned empty. How exactly are you going to bring a…five foot seven inch zombie with you? Annette stood out like a sore thumb. Her skin tone was two, three different shades, and her red hair was blinding.
___________
In the trunk of the car was her chainsaw. It had blood marks which refused to be scrubbed off and dull blades. Still, Ann didn’t dare part from it. She held onto it like a lifeline. You had to vehemently rip it away from her.
She flailed her absurdly powerful legs and hit you square on the chest. Ouch, you knew for a fact that a bruise was going to bloom.
It was best decided to restrain her.
“It’s cold in here,” Ann whimpered as you forced her into the backseat. “Let me out. Bitch.” The rope dug into her wrists and her legs. You fastened her seatbelt. She paled when she heard the click.
“Tsk. You found your voice but you can’t find your manners,” you retorted. “I think I liked you better when you communicated through moving your head.”
“May I remind you that I am a grown…” Ann trailed off. A grown person? Human? Woman? She doesn’t exactly belong to any of those categories. If anything, she was a disgrace to the human race.
“I might consider rolling up the windows. Quit the attitude, first.” You got into the driver’s seat. Ann thrashed and squirmed, trying to wiggle free from these bounds. She started to slam her head against the window. Hitherto stepping on the brakes, you turned the radio on full volume.
“Kelly has requested we play Love You To Death, by Type O Negative,” said the man on the radio. “Good ol’ Type O! I haven’t heard from them in a long time!” He continued to drone on about the lead singer of the band. Was it that difficult to just…play the song? “Anyway, the original song is…SEVEN MINUTES? Ah, we’ll play the edit version, then!”
The sultry song filled the awkward ambience. You clicked your tongue. “People managing the radio are always so melodramatic, don’t you think?”
You looked in the rearview mirror to find Ann biting on the rope, catching a glimpse of her pearly, white teeth. Ann’s efforts were not wasted. You took your attention off of her for a second, and suddenly she freed her wrists, then untied the ones by her feet before unbuckling the seatbelt. She leaned forward, feeling her breath on your ear—
"Where are we going?”
Your grip on the steering wheel tightened. Too far to quit. Can’t turn back now. Bring her. You took another unfamiliar turn. She tried to take in the scenery before her; the roads, the flowers that bloom along it, the shape of the trees…
It was no use. Her mind was blank. Even if you were to take her to a sketchy facility and torture her, she wouldn’t be fazed at all. She had nothing valuable to lose…right? Ann repeated her question but with a more profound unshakeable certainty.
You sighed heavily. “Ann, what do you remember when you woke up from your operation?” Pause. “Specifically about your encounter with Dr. Sebastian?”
Surely she’d mention some details about him somehow. Weren't they close?
Ann’s nails dug into the cushion of the headrest. “My eyes snapped open and I was met with the blinding light. This is a strange way to describe it, but it was like having needles pricking my eyes. The light dimmed, and I saw Sebastian’s face over mine. I had…deja vu. Yes, yes, that was what it was called. I remembered the way he leaned on my shoulders. And when he showed up to my small house with red roses. He said something along the lines of ‘they remind me of your hair’. I can feel his touch, the way the knife slid across my forearm, the stitches attaching me to a new body part. He didn’t give me anesthesia. I didn’t want to drift off, but I certainly did not want to stay awake either—”
Enough of the sob story. It was too difficult to emphasize with her.
You cut her off. “I want to know what happened to him after the operation. Who or what killed him?”
Not a single sound escaped her. With crossed arms, she leaned back against the seat and stared out of the window. You made a sharp turn.
Ann slammed against the car door. Over and over and over and over—
Would you look at that! You’ve arrived. You parked behind a tall, boring building with an entrance that could only be reached if you climbed up the laborious stairs, or went up the ramp.
Stepping out of the car, you held the door open for Ann. Your keys were still in place (long ago, you had faith that nobody would come around and swipe your old car.)
She stubbornly scooted away from the opened door. “I’m not getting out until you give me a good reason why.”
Unable to contain yourself, you burst out laughing. “God, Ettie, you’re funny.”
“Ettie…?” she asked incredulously.
“Ettie, Annette?”
“Never call me that again, please.”
“Only if you get out of the car.”
Ann reluctantly stepped out despite being barefoot. Her shoes were thrown inside of the trunk after she had kicked you.
“Give me your word that you won’t try anything.”
You shook your head. “Of course I won’t.” You held out your hand. “I am going to ask you again: who or what killed Dr. Sebastian?”
Softly, Ann chuckled. “I thought it was obvious.” She grabbed onto your arm and squeezed it firmly. “I did.”

Summary:
They were a song.
A blend of highs and lows, of joy and sorrow, of silence and sound. Something deeper, something more profound than he knew how to say out loud bound them together all these years. [...] It was a symphony of goofy laughs, a gentle timbre that greeted him every morning, frustrated calls of his name when he did something wrong, moaning orgasms and the vibration of sound that meant comfort and love to him.
Mickey and Ian's feelings about each other told through a series of one-shots related to the five senses.

you had been dating for a year and a half now. alastor’s 21st birthday was approaching, and you were 19.
Jane came over while alastor shopped with his mom.
you sat on the sofa, catching up with Jane.
you told her all about alastor, and she squealed when you told her.
“EEK! OH MY GOSH IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!” she hugged you.
she left while alastor and marie came in. alastor laid her on the couch and made some tea. she was coughing like crazy.
“uh… is everything alright?” you are genuinely worried that something bad happened.
“she’s sick!”
“Bébé, it’s just a cold.” she said while alastor wrapped a blanket around her. he handed her a cup of tea.
“you wont die, right?” he kneeled in front of her.
“baby, i can’t promise you anything.” she coughed.
“please! promise me you won’t die! i need you.”
“baby, your almost 21 now. you have to move on without me when i die.”
“y-you mean IF you die… right?” she shakes her head and caresses his caramel coloured cheek. “look, bébé, i may never get to meet my grandchildren. i know you tried a couple of years ago, but promise me you will if you both want children.”
he looks at you. “i promise, mama.” he sobs in her arms.
you don’t know if you should go over there. you walk up a few steps and sit.
“mama, i love you more than anything.”
“more than anything?”
he nods. they both say, in sync, “i’m grateful you’re my mother/child more than anything. more than anything.” he kisses her cheek.
“please rest, mama.” he gets up and walks up the stairs. he’s surprised to see you crying at the top.
“darling, why are you crying?” he wipes a tear from your face and licks it from his thumb.
“nothing…i just don’t want to see marie go. i want her to live forever.”
he sits down next to you. “i don’t either.” he sighs. you both sit there.
“but… if she dies… i think… i think everything will be alright, in the end.” he swallows a lump in his throat.
you rest your head on his shoulder.
“i love you.” you say quietly.
“i love you more, dearest.”

that was a cute and short chapter. i originally had it longer, but the app crashed again, so i lost my progress. i’m too lazy to fix it again, so now it’s rushed 👁️👄👁️
I slowly stand up wiping the dirt off my clothes '' I really should stop thinking about that man''I mutter as I finally take a look at my surroundings ''Oh shit''I exclaim''why do I do these things to myself''I sob as I realise i'm in the middle of a unknown forest.
slowly i start walking hearing the sounds of creatures the birds and insects it was somewhat peaceful i walk in silence stopping once to take a break in the trees it's my second time now climbing the tallest and thiccest tree i could find to stop for a break i climb till im close to the top and collapse onto a branch on my stomach making a loud thud letting a sigh escape me i turn onto my back listening to the sounds as i slowly drift to sleep . . . . .
Silence
my eyes pop open i slowly lean forward thats strange i think as i try to listen for any sounds or any views of an animal the eerie silence is quick to get all my senses heightened as i silently move through the trees trying to figure out why the forest went silent i continue to jump through the trees until i spot something on the ground it looked like nothing was there but she could practically smell the fear off the animals well the animals who were not underground or hiding in the trees all the animals seem to be trying to stay away from this area where it is it looks like heat waves its like a warped version of the area i jump down tree land behind bushes crouching to stay out of view.
ill try to make it longer but im kinda falling out of my obsession for d but i will try to update and the punctuation is kak but idk wat to do soooooooo ya there is prob gonna be like over 10 chapters with the pace im doing . . . . thx for reading and u can recomend stuff to write bye~
James 'accidentally' agrees to a date over the phone, having no idea who she is - just that she sounds hot and 'her legs are on the new James bond poster'. Except its not a stranger he's meeting up with but instead it's his high school crush/frenemy Lily Evans.
