yeah a decentish chunk people think they're fake because they are like. very strange i guess if you don't grow up in an area with them? my dad thought they were like made up stories because he grew up in california and my mom was like wtf you're so dumb because she lived in places that had had them. it's like how people think marsh gas ignition in swamps is completely fake i guess. because it sounds like some fairytale shit.
Ooooh interesting, thanks for the answer. I also am from California and have never seen one but I guess I never questioned their existence. This also reminds me of some people who thought durians were made up for Animal Crossing and Breath of the Wild.
