(F2U) Httyd Bases
Some of the bases I've done for species from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise!
They can be downloaded from DeviantArt or Toyhouse, along with a bunch more!
Quick sketch of my fave sod dragon, the Shockjaw!! +fem!Shock (me), LOL.
I love the mechanic in sod where the dragons sometimes sit and lay down after being idle, its so cute. Gives me poses to draw
Based on my pfp, a screenshot of the game
Decided to redesign the Shockjaw from How to Train Your Dragon.
These dragons only appeared in the games but despite that they have always been my favorite species, even if they had a kinda ugly design, so i decided to redesign them.
The Shockjaws new design is inspired by crocodiles, sailfish and peregrine falcon.
Shockjaws are described as being one of the fastest dragons so I tried to take inspiration from some of the world's fastest animals.
Their body if fairly squat and low to the ground with short robust legs and a long flat tail filled with muscle.
The webbing that runs down their back varies between males and females with males having lower webbing connections as it is more attractive for the females.
Nasal horns on Shockjaws are used to fight for territory, with the species being largely solitary with the exception of mating season. They protect their territory feircly from other shockaws and outside species of dragons.
The patterning on a shokjaws back is used to blend in when in shallow waters, this pattering is more common with individuals that live in freshwater or closer to the shoreline.
Feelers on the bottom of their jaws help shockjaws generate and detect electricity when hunting.
I had a lot of fun designing this. Originally I was going to post something else today but I just watched the new live action movie so I thought this was fitting.
