* Every time the Mayship docks near a beach or lake, May is the first to rush to the water and dive in, usually in her regular clothes. The cleaning bill of the jellyfish pirates is mostly made up of two things; buying Johnny new hats, and washing salt water out of May’s clothes.

* Sometimes when they port somewhere with a lot of rough company, May is the muscle that keeps people from trying to do anything funny to her younger crew-mates. Earlier on, before she had any kind of reputation, more than a few goons tried and pull her aside to do who knows what. Johnny has had to apologize for more than his fair share of broken noses, arms, legs, ribs, and other assorted body parts before people started cluing into the fact that you DO NOT fuck with the girl wearing orange and carrying a huge ass iron anchor around like a toy.

* The anchor being her weapon was mostly an accident. The Mayship was attacked and had to do a rushed landing near a reef. May grabbed the first thing she could find to drive the attackers away. It took everyone, including May, a couple hours before they noticed that what she swung around was an old iron anchor, still rusty and covered with barnacles. They got it cleaned up at a metal works shop that asked them what ship they were sailing. “It ain’t for the ship.” Said the captain, as the first mate grabbed the ring at the top of the anchor and hoisted on her shoulder like it was an inflatable balloon.

* It’s a long standing tradition in the Jellyfish crew to have a celebratory party for each new member that joins them. One of the things that happens in those parties is for the new member to try and arm wrestle May. It’s two fold in purpose; first to show that May has earned her place as first mate, and that the new member can trust her. After each lose another crew member joins in and they both try and beat her. Johnny joins last and only then does May let them win, showing deference for the captain and proving that it’s all in good fun. It was quite a shock when Dizzy beat May during her first attempt when first joining the crew. Every day of Dizzy being on the crew started with a rematch between her and May, and when she left to live with Ky they were at a draw 50-50. May looks forward to one last match with her navigator.

* Occasionally talks with Chipp, where he looks to her, of all people, for advice about all sorts of things. They’re two energetic people that quickly cause chaos on their own so these conversations are monitored by Johnny and answer to stop anything from blowing up. Literally. (They usually fail.)

Ken Penders, you are the last person qualified to talk about recolors and “laziness” when you use fucking google photos for half your backgrounds and are trying to sell bootleg Sonic fanfiction for money.

The fact that this man has fans who actively try to defend him is equal parts baffling and pathetic, as the mere concept that there are people who are so lacking in basic critical judgement skills to like his work unironically, or in ANY capacity, actively lowers my opinion of that entire site in general.

Not only are their points so horribly fucking constructed, but Ken’s attempt at strawmanning is so laughable, so PATHETIC that it makes Dobson look like a fucking genius.
