Here is an example of a beneficiary use of technology in music. I assure this is not a simple trick of camera. Thom Jenkinson (a.k.a. Squarepusher) uses a larger version of this in his live show. He has since expanded this idea by adding an interactive wall. Although this merely a visual and interactive tool and not musical, Squarepusher is a good example of a musician that uses technology as an instrument instead of a crutch. 

But we waste and wait to see
