one thing i agree on with Caroline is that waystar was a black hole for the family. something that sucked the life out of everything around it and put immense strain on every relationship. some might argue that it all came from logan, and it did, but waystar is the diseased amalgamation, the malevolent behemoth of his influence left behind. i think tom becoming ceo will be his inevitable downfall and spiral into his machiavellian tendencies, traits we’ve seen him exhibit sporadically throughout the series while still mostly keeping a humane profile. but the tendency is there and waystar will bring it out of him.
do i think now that the company is out of their hands the siblings will develop a healthy relationship? not really, since all they’ve ever known was strife and competition. but i do think it can help them put things into perspective. i keep thinking about barbados and how ridiculous the whole ordeal was. like you’re on a private island with your mom, you’re 3 siblings, and all you can talk about is a business deal you’re on opposing sides of and arguing about it. so yeah i can see why their mother “betrayed” them like that, though who knows what her actual motives were.
ultimately and ironically it was connor who had it best in the end - he got married and bought his late father’s mansion and is in talks of becoming an ambassador all thanks to his failed presidential campaign and utter disengagement from anything to do with the dumpster fire that is waystar.
