Shivapuri trekking is one of the finest short & easy treks in the Kathmandu valley. It is only 25 kilometers away from the International airport and the nearest ‘National Park’ to the city. The name itself is termed after the ‘Shivapuri National Park’. The Shivapuri National Park, initially established as Shivapuri Watershed Reserve in 1976, Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve (SWWR) in 1984 and located 12 kilometers north of the Kathmandu valley, was gazette in 2002.Although it’s really close to the hustling Kathmandu city, it still manages to offer trekkers with a sight of the outlying and pomp villages Nepal has to offer. Shivapuri hill at an elevation of 2729mt. is the highest point our trek. From the top of Shivapuri hill, we get to enjoy the all-embracing views of the western mountain ranges including Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorjelakpa, Shishapangma, Gaurishankar , just to name a few. You could be gazing at more than 60 snow-capped peaks from the hill-top in a really short time.
