Today we went and visit the viking ships, the Oseberg, the Gokstad and the Tune. ~ They’re not doing well. Sure, not all boats have a female name, but many of them do, and it is thought to help deepen the sailors' bond with the boat! 𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹: If you are new to sailing, you might not be familiar with many of the acronyms that precede a boat’s name which actually indicate what kind of vessel it is. For example, 𝗦𝗦 is a prefix that stands for 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿 (the ship is driven by propellors or "screws"; 𝗧𝗕 - 𝗧𝘂𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁.
