I love the PHM fandom so much, its the least toxic fandom space I've ever been in

Thoughts about last minute Kensuke/Asuka [CW pedophilia]: Were people expecting Asuka to want a guy her visual age? Despite her having arrested development, physically? It would be much creepier to me if her endgame was with Shinji or anyone who wasn't 'mentally' nearer her age. Like, Asuka would be the pedo, surely? It's been fourteen years since Shinji vanished. It makes more sense on Asuka's side, especially if Kensuke grew physically over time with her arrested. It's fucked but it isn't nearly as fucked as Asuka being in love with a someone with the real world experience of a kid. For what it's worth, I also have serious reservations about Shinji being paired with Mari for exactly the same reasons. I prefer to think of Mari with Asuka or even Yui (Haven't thought about it too hard - what's going on with ages there?). I like to think the ending scene is more a metaphorical one with them going together into the new world with her as the rebuild-only character, and them being grown up. But yknow, I recognise there's room! I recognise it's kinda pointless to try and get away from the skeeziness of the Evangelion setup mind. Clones? Ages? Who knows.
