Turns out they’re just reminding @libertybelleh that she’s coming to stay at our house on Friday, for FOB fangirling.
Ten years ago, @shinystarlight and I went to our first @falloutboy show at Hammersmith Palais. It was one of the last shows to ever be played there and beforehand, we met @libertybelleh, who later tracked me down on MySpace. We’ve been friends and gig buddies ever since, travelling as far as Scotland and Chicago together.
It was a transition period - the tail end of the From Under the Cork Tree era, leading into Infinity on High, a time of sharp change for the band, a bit like now.
Today, to mark ten years and another change, we each got (another) tattoo in honour of the band and the brilliant and ridiculous times they’ve instigated or featured in.
The tiny ‘XO’ is traced from Pete’s handwriting on one of the Young and Menace cards, and Julie and I both opted for purple.
We’ve all drifted in and out of fandom over the years, but the band is a huge part of our history - true believers never die, God’s going to have to kill us twice.
In other news, if shinystarlight and I disappear, we have probably been suffocated by the chlorine fumes overwhelming us from the fishmongers under our flat. It's unbearable. We both have headaches, my chest is already badly irritated and we're feeling loopy. If we die, please delete our browser history.
