i am so sorry for pointing out that you posted something misleading.
You keep saying that and you’re just plain wrong. You’re purposely not understanding just for the sake of arguing and you need to zip your lip and watch the video.

On top of the fact that a professional journalist that knows the language ALSO says the same damn thing. I have (as I said) even been told how romantic this phrase is by my Japanese penpals, too.
This isn’t some conspiracy against your ships. This is just how the phrase is used in their culture. It literally means “I want to meet you” but in a romantic way to convey that one party wants to romantically be with the other person. It’s usually used when couples haven’t seen each other in a while and they miss one another (i.e Kagome saying it to Inyuasha; she says “watashi aitai” instead). It’s basically a “let’s be together” kind of thing for lack of a better wording.
