One morning Alyssa and I got up really early and walked over to Anna and Roy's house. Our laundry was being washed at their house by one of the house workers there. I'm ashamed I never learned her name, she was a really nice woman. I remember seeing her in their kitchen a lot. The sun had come up already and we walked down the dirt road just around the corner. We wanted to get there and back in plenty of time before our pick up for breakfast, but we still had to wait for sun rise since we weren't allowed to wander around the farm when it was dark. Even with the sun it was still chilly and I could feel the dew which made me think our clothes wouldn't be dry yet as they were hanging up outside. When we arrived I touched the clothes I had hung up there the day before and sure enough they were still very damp. We were both disappointed since I guess we were both running very low on clean clothes. Just as we were about to leave the back door opened and the woman poked her head out. "I am so sorry girls, it is early still and your clothes are not dry yet. Come back in the afternoon." We thanked her and she went back to work. Later that morning at breakfast, Albert dropped by. He told us that he had found rhino tracks near our house. We were all really excited since we'd all been hoping to catch a glimpse of the one white rhino they had on the farm. At this point he kind of raised one eyebrow. "Also, two girls walked all over the tracks this morning." The realization hit me and I looked over at Alyssa. She kind of widened her eyes at me but we both ended up giggling. I guess a few of the people who lived in our house knew we walked to Roy and Anna's that morning and they laughed at us too. "How do you know they were girl footprints?" Someone asked. "Smaller and narrower feet," he explained, "and women walk with their toes pointed straight in front of them. Men walk with their toes pointed out." So many fun facts like that from Albert. He was so cool.
