The Time When I Raised Money for Shinerama and The Time When I Met Matt Roloff
Dear Internet,
So..before I start. Iām probably going to put ā2 journals in 1ā³ like this one a lot in the future, because I started school and there are too many things to share and talk about and I donāt have time to write one everyday!. AHHHH! Anyways.. hereās what happened lately..
I donāt know where to begin on how fortunate it was for me to hear him speak. I had learned so much from him even though I only heard him speak for about an hour. He is so inspirational and definitely opened my mind even more. After listening to his speech, I felt more confident, determined on my goals and dreams, and grateful that I have a healthy body. It made me feel regretful and foolish of the things that I did in the past. I mean I have a healthy body and there isnāt much in this world that I have to worry about. Last week, I went out in the street to help fundraise Shinerama, which is a fundraising event for cystic fibrosis research. I had fun while fundraising but the experience has taught me a lot, even though this isnāt the first time I fundraising for Shinerama. Of course that I met people who are not so polite and happy with a bunch of college kids walking around downtown chanting and asking for money. And of course, I have had A TONS of rejections. But that doesnāt discourage or made me mad , it humbles me. It reminded me that during my journey to achieve my goals and dreams, there will be people standing there in your way and not support whatever you do. It reminded me to appreciate more about the people who believe in me and support whatever I do. You have no idea how grateful I am when someone put money in my donation box, even if they are just one or two quarters. Because those quarters go a long way, in fact they can save lives. What I am trying to say is that I am so grateful for my health and everything that I have and the live that I have today.
Humble. Accept. Listen. Learn
Love,
Char
