I came across a post about the fact there weren’t a lot of headcanons and stuff about Requin’s team and I had to put that here:

I know somewhere on the wikipedia it’s said that they were orphans who ran away from their orphanage, but since I don’t think there are actual evidences of that on the internet, I went with my own story (for the french speakers, you can find it in a whole fic right here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/22654018/chapters/54145027

For the non-french speakers, real quick: I imagine they all come from the same council estate (HLM in french, it’s a bunch of apartment blocks more or less). They all had parents except for Requin, but were living in abusive households, so they decided to leave when they all were 18 (I imagine they are older than Tag’s team, though I thought there was a canon proof about it at some point I never found?? Anyways if someone has the canon age of the Requin’s team members I would be glad to hear about it.

Coudboule and Cartoon became friends really quick because they both had growth issues, Coudboule was growing too fast and Cartoon too slow. 

Cartoon is the youngest of the team, he is a few months apart from Marteau. He hates school and can’t get close to anything about school because he hated studies and his parents didn’t really help with that

Coudboule had a lot of siblings

Marteau used to be really shy but reasonable and Requin trusts him a lot because he’s quite responsible despite being younger

Poussmousse has cleaning issues because his father worked in a perfume shop and was obsess with hygiene.

Requin had to learn prematurely to take responsibility about basically everything

Street Football is one of the major things that helped them with their social trust issues. They have felt for a long time everyone they were supposed to trust had given up on them, causing them to rely only on themselves and Requin’s authority. This is why he’s always the leader and they don’t have a hard time following what he says: he’s older, and an orphan, he’s more independent.

I like the idea that the Requins are basically what Tag and his team would have become without people like Chrono, or Adelaïde. Despite their sadness about being abandoned by their families or away from them, they still got adults to rely on. When Tag thinks about leaving his team to Requin, and explains him that they’re not different one from the other, Requin doesn’t say it but mentally agree and disagree at the same time.

I’m listening a lot to Say my name, from Beetlejuice’s musical, and I just imagine it being sang by Eloïse and Requin (Eloïse would be Lydia as the “my rich father neglects me but I’m a smart girl and won’t take it”, Requin would be Betelgeuse as “I’m some friendly weirdo trying to help and really trying to be more clever than I am”, starring Shined and Fred as Barbara and Adam)

Because:

They basically have the right aesthetic?? and I’m sorry but Requin defending Eloïse in season 2 episode 1 when she says girls can play football gave me life and a wish for them to interact and be friends

“I’m on the bench but coach just put me in the game!” could refers at seasons 2-3 where Requin’s team are more here to help than to play football, because of their lack of level

I can feel the *look at the camera like they are in the office* at verse “I’ve been swimming with piranhas, I don’t need a shark”. This makes me laugh way too much for what it is

We already saw Requin in a suit so I mean...

I’m sorry but Requin “I’m impressive and scary when we meet but then I slowly become a stupid dork, an awkward family member and someone you can tease way too easily”... He is Betelgeuse.
