same. There’s legit so much Pearl hate now and it literally makes me feel sick.

like we know what she did was very bad, considering how important fusion is to garnet, but both amethyst and pearl are in dark places right now. ame because she’s just lost a mother figure when she’s still a child in gem terms and because she knows she was made to be a destructive monster which lowers her self worth tremendously, and pearl because she lost the confidante and lover that she spent 5,000 years with and risked her existence over and over again.

they both say that being with garnet makes them feel so good, because garnet is literally made of love and that seems to be something theyre both lacking right now. and i don’t blame garnet for lashing out at both of them and giving pearl the cold shoulder, not at all, but at the same time pearl and amethyst are in such deep bouts of depression that they’d give anything just to fuse with her and feel loved for a while.

and then there are posts calling pearl abusive and saying not to excuse her actions just because she’s mentally ill, because that implies all abusers are mentally ill. like if you knew anything about what it’s like to be neurodivergent, you’d know your illness can sometimes determine your actions for you--especially when you have one as severe as fucking post-traumatic stress disorder. congrats on being unsympathetic and ableist at the same time!
