this trip had taken forever to plan. shiloh was busy being some businessman in chicago and lil was all the way in spain with spencer doing her grad school program. she’d missed her best friend, obviously. shiloh was already scarce to get into contact with in the first place and not being able to go to his dorm room and force her way inside was a pain in the neck. but he was stuck with her the same way she was stuck with him - after all, traveling to a whole other country was pretty extreme. she was basically forcing him to take a vacation to come see her, but she was pretty sure he’d rather get frequent flyer miles and go somewhere new rather than lil take her ass home so they could do literally the same thing they always did the same place they always did it. they could take a train to france or italy or portugal if they wanted. they could pretty much go anywhere. so yeah, lil had convinced shiloh to come to spain.
she’d come to pick him up from the airport, clicking her phone on and off as if she could possibly miss him when she was waiting for him right next to his baggage claim. she was just antsy. they went from seeing each other multiple times a week, to once, to every few weeks, and then graduation hit them like a truck and she never got to see him at all. excuse her for missing him or whatever, even if he might get prickly if she told him that. she was waiting like a hawk, patient for the moment to strike. and then she saw him - he was tall and looked grumpy (to be fair that plane ride was brutal and she knew it) and he was the best thing she’d seen within the last 24 hours, but she realized she wasn’t patient at all. she ran towards him, throwing her arms around him in a hug that she was pretty sure he was going to hate. but lil was hosting him so he’d better be nice (as if). “sinclair.” she allowed herself a moment to squeeze him tighter before pulling away, maybe feeling a little choked up. he’d definitely draw the line at crying so she was going to hold it in. “bienvenido a españa!” she greeted happily, bouncing on her toes.
