Laxmi Narayan Temple, dedicated to Vishnu, this temple was built by Balabai, wife of Prithviraj Kachwaha in the first quarter of sixteen century AD. It consisted of a sanctum, vestibule, pillared hall and porch. This small yet towering Shikhar of the Sun temple. The Royal family of Jaipur is believed to be from the lineage of Lord Ram through the descendants of his son – Kush. As Lord Ram was a descendant of Surya or Sun his lineage was therefore called Suryavanshi. Shikhara over the sanctum sanctorum where the presiding deity is enshrined is the most prominent and visible part of a Hindu temple of North India.
