Shield Ants!! I am so excited with these photos 😁 This species is called Meranoplus bicolor. Their bodies are covered with protective hairs which prevent other ants from biting and stinging them. They also have a stinger of their own, but they don't seem to use it for stinging but for segregating a strong chemical.
