I already did the first one! Thank you SO much for these. These were awesome. The nine roles were the hardest, haha.

3.) Favorite role you’ve played?

Cassandra in The Trojan Women and the Stage Manager in Our Town.

5.) Role you’ve played that is a gender different than yours?

Omfg, I was the only girl who mostly played women when we did a history compilation. The Stage Manager is generally played by a man, but I don’t see it as a gendered role. I played Peter Quince in Midsummer in high school.

7.) “You’re mic is still on.” story.

I’ve only been mic-ed once but I didn’t fuck it up! The sound guy was pretty bad, though (I think he was mostly high???), and I’m sure my mic was NOT on at points when it should have been. -.-

11.) Favorite play you’ve performed?

Richard III, but I didn’t get to go on. Hamlet, then.

13.) Least favorite play you’ve performed?

Ummmmm…Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom was an experience, but that was a combination of factors. At our post mortem, the director opened with “so maybe we should have done a different play,” and everyone said “yeah.”

15.) How do you combat stage nerves?

When I know, I will tell you! I’m actually not bad about stage nerves. I love doing plays. But I’m a wreck with audition nerves. I hate doing it and I just have to muscle through.

17.) Favorite Golden Age/Classic Musical?

It’s been My Fair Lady ever since I saw That One Production I Talk About Constantly. 

19.) If you were to do any other part of theatre (directing, sound, costumes, business) what would it be?

All those other things are REALLY hard and I’m good at none of them! Maybe dramaturgy, specifically for Shakespeare. I actually probably would be pretty good at that.

21.) How old is your newest headshot?

About five months.

23.) Do you want to pursue acting professionally?

No-o? Yes and no. I can actually save for retirement and easily pay for my apartment with my current job, and I’m kind of sick of financial angst. I’m sad to not be able to put theatre first, but I’m also relieved that I have the ability to only do projects I REALLY want to do (if I could ever get cast, lol) and not have to worry about whether they’re paid. I’m literally just doing theatre for the love of it, and I think that’s what I want.

25.) What was the last show you saw live?

All-female Henry VI! It was BOSS and I just…..I’m so bi. The last musical was The Little Mermaid.

27.) Would you turn down an ensemble role, just because it’s ensemble?

No!!!! I would love to be a spear carrier and I would be floored to sing in the background in a good show! I just want to be a part of something awesome. 

29.) Have you ever worked with a theatre company more than once?

Ahahaha, if I get any like this, I’m going to assume they’re Shakespeare.

do I like them: He’s…pretty awful, but yeah, I like him.

5 good qualities: charismatic, usually played by someone hot, socially intelligent, snarky, doesn’t murder kids

3 bad qualities: opportunistic, greedy, somehow thinks he’s exempt from being fucked over by Richard

favourite episode/etc: His monologue about the citizens is so fucking funny in the right hands.

otp: I, erm, may or may not ship him with Richard. A lot.

brotp: I love it when his moments with Margaret and the kids are humanizing for him.

ot3: Wow, who would I wish him and Richard on? No one, probably. Maybe Catesby, actually, because the scene with the three of them plays a little like a tag-team seduction if you want it to.

notp: I do not care; throw crack ships at me for the History Plays, and I will be excited about them.

That parallel Richard in Henry VI, though. (“Why, I can smile…”) Of course, it sort of comes off as a hollow boast standing next to Richard, but Buckingham doesn’t turn out to be half-bad. He plays off Richard well enough to make him king.

Allllllll of them? I’m very excited about seeing Richard II soon, and the Henry VI’s will always top my list, but I would have to say Julius Caesar or Coriolanus right now.

18. The question you’d ask William Shakespeare if you were drinking in a pub 

Oh, man, I don’t even know. I would just ask him to tell me all about his life. We have his plays, but we really know so little about him. (And I’d pull out Measure for Measure and ask him about those thorny passages that scholars still debate, meaning-wise.)

shells: would you prefer to be a vampire or a werewolf?

…..Aw, damn. I really don’t want to be either? I imagine being a werewolf would be harder to cover up/control, depending what lore we’re going by, but I don’t want the whole eternal life thing. Although I guess I would save money on food as a vampire. And wouldn’t have to sleep so much. And I would be able to walk around the city at night and if any guy tried to attack me, it’d be like “Haha, nope…in fact, I’m going to fucking eat you to make sure you don’t try this on another girl ever again.” I don’t want the negatives that would come with being an immortal demon, but if I had to, I’d probably turn into a vigilante and take some creeps down with me.
