Irondad Zombie au maybe???
Okay! So I think the usual route for this is kind of survival in the wilderness amongst zombies but I have a different, slightly unconventional idea.
When the outbreak happens, the Avengers along with Tony and Peter are at the compound. Itâs one of the most reinforced buildings in the entire world, therefore itâs not hard for them to protect themselves from the outside world. Donât think for one second that Tony doesnât fly out and rescue Pepper, Happy, May, and all of Peterâs friends and their families as well. The compound has more than enough resources to support all of them and more. However, all communication to the outside world is cut off. The last thing they saw was the public service announcement urging everybody to stay indoors.
This is the one fight they can not lead with their fists or armor. Itâs up to Tony, Bruce and most of the other doctors at the compound to put their heads together and find a cure.
The hours not spent pouring over research is spent with Peter instead. Peter whose only fifteen and watching the world around him succumb to an infectious disease and by monsters only seen in movies. Tony tries to get Peterâs mind occupied on anything else than whatâs going on on the outside. He can see the boy itching to go out and do something, to help in the only way he thinks he can, but thatâs the last thing that will happen.
The months go by and no cure is found. They start rationing food. Thatâs when Peter starts to get weak. His metabolism has not yet adapted to these new circumstances. May and Tony are constantly giving him their rations (itâs nothing May hasnât been used as they have fallen on hard times before and Tony can live off coffee for the rest of his life if need be). The boy's weight starts to drop drastically. His clothes hang off his body, exposing the sharp bones. They all lose some weight, but itâs much worse for the superhero teen. Thatâs when Tony decides to set up a mission with the rest of the Avengers on a food hunt. He knows it dangerous. He knows that these zombies have practically infested every square inch of this world. He knows they are stronger and faster than they thought of at first. More vicious than any movie or show could have depicted. Theyâve never left a fight without a scratch, but in this case, one single scratch could mean the end. But heâd be damned if his kid starves to death.
âYouâre coming back, right?â Peter asks, voice weak, as Tony kneels next to his bed. Mayâs on the other side, never having left her nephewâs side once he was bedridden.
âOf course, kiddo.â Tony retracts his armor from his hand in order to brush his fingers through Peterâs curls, his fingers catching some of the strands that fall. A side effect of the malnutrition.Â
âOkay. Promise to be safe?â
Tony smiles, leaning down to press a kiss to Peterâs head, not able to ignore how cold the teenager is, even when swaddled by four heavy blankets. âI promise.â
