He didn’t think about how they’d chirp and trill when they were exited or happy or comfortable. not that he was typically there when they did but nonetheless it wasn’t something the god had considered

He didn’t think about how they’d perch everywhere, every time they sat down. How improper that would look in a formal setting, how he would have to teach them to sit properly, like a prince, like he should be

He didn’t think about how they’d collect trinkets and jewelry from their friends and family. How they’d wear them everywhere, how their outfits would be covered head to toe in mementos from those Fable considered unimportant, those the prince should have never interacted with.

He didn’t think about how they’d have to preen their wings. How they’d have to spend hours preening them to look like the proper prince he should be.

He didn’t think about how they’d build nests. How they’d spend hours building a nests stuffed with blankets and things from their loved ones. How much of an eyesore he would considered the nests would be. How improper it would be for a prince’s bed to be made like that.

can we pay attention to the fact that the flock is in there. like I don't know if I currently have enough brain cells to articulate why that's important to me but like.

they've been with Icarus no matter what. no matter what changed, (literally in terms of wack) the flock was around. And even when they were barely focused on taking care of themself Icarus always made sure they were alright. They spent so much time building aviaries for them and some of them slept on their bed and his last request was for Rae to take care of them.

Also, if I'm able to get a second question. What do you think would be Icarus's pose? I'm just asking so I can draw them.

okay SO— sherbirb was a really late decision in terms of planning the canon, but it IS canon

What I’ve canonically decided on was that Icarus was born with lil bird ears (or got them very early as a kid) and those ears later glitched into hardcore sherb’s elf ears over the resets-

All that to say: *they got canon bird tendencies*

For Icarus, the wings are super natural and easy to move with their body. I definitely picture Icarus sleeping mainly on their stomach, so their wings can spread out, but sometimes will sleep with one wing under them as a pillow.

Their house has to be absolutely covered in feathers- would I call their bed a nest? No not directly- but it qualifies for sure- they absolutely have a tendency to perch when they sit, and perch on any object they can see. I think Centross was one of the few people allowed to preen their wings, as well as Rae (several times) …and maybe Ven too by the end of it-

I also absolutely live for them doing lil bird chirps— is it canon? No not directly, but I love it and I agree- but I do think that they can see glass though

Do they have bird feet? no, not in canon sadly- but that doesn’t mean they can’t in theory! I personally love the idea of shoving bird feet in converse- or just bird feet in general-

I also think Icarus as a child had a lot more bird tendencies than they do now- and that they grew away from them with the resets and only recently started picking them up again-

And they know that they are isolated,

They might tell Rae they aren’t, that they aren’t alone, and that the have Fable and Ven and Ari, but they know they are

Fable is never home, always leaving them to hurt for Netherum, and Ven and Ari don’t even know where they are
