Found this one old sketch...thing from my Episode 4 Gummigoo lives AU fic thing where Pomni and Max are in a relationship. Like the other crackships floating around in my works, its entire existence is for plot purposes. Mostly to rub extra salt in the wound of finding that Pomni and his mates don't remember him.
Speaking of Gummigoo's Digital Days AU, there's a few things in the works, alongside Sherbet's Gate. Such fun things include:
The bridge between Episodes 3 and 4. More Gummigoo and Kinger, Ragatha and Gummigoo touching briefly upon their respective mommy issues, and the set up to Spudsy's.
Zooble and Gummigoo are stuck together for an adventure and end up having to save Jax from himself. Neither are thrilled with it.
Candy Canyon Kingdom II - The gang goes back to the Kingdom for another adventure with Gummigoo coming to better terms with letting Max and Chad go.
The humans use Gummigoo's bandit skills for a heist adventure.
Gummigoo crashing out over the existence of Evil Pomni and what that could mean about the 'Pomni' he encountered in Episode 4
Jax begrudgingly starting to respect Gummigoo - as much as he can offer for an NPC. Maybe.
Gangle gives Gummigoo art lessons, and the Sun approaches them with a proposal to assassinate Caine.
The underwater adventure from Episode 5.
And so much more!
I'm still working on the final chapters for the first part of Sherbet's Gate - Chapter 31 is the middle of heavy revisions. Coming back from vacation and viewing it again made me realize I didn't like large chunks of it. I'm hoping to have it out (and the bridge for 3 & 4) out by end of September at the latest.
Its a The Amazing Digital Circus fic that splits from canon at the end of the second episode asking the question: "What if Pomni and Gummigoo got left behind in Candy Canyon".
It manages to perfectly blend the existential dread that TADC is built on with wild west outlaw hijinks (And a surprisingly decent chunk of political drama and intrigue) Also some phenomenally paced and earned slow burn Pomni x Gummigoo/Funnygummy. (Yes, this is what got me interested in the first place)
Vashonian does a wonderful job of both fleshing out the characters as well as the world itself in what I can only describe as a love letter to the early 1900 and candy.
Definitely give it a read. Possible spoilers beyond.
I wanted to make this like a well thought out list or something but I think I'm just going to stream of consciousness this:
I've really been loving the setting. The fictional wild west in early chapters and Titanic/high society in the later chapters has really given me an itch for similar media. (Went and started a play through of Red Dead 2 to get a fix) Vashonian's descriptive writing paints the world beautifully and really puts the reader into it with the characters.
At the same time there's a lot of care taken to remind the reader that as detailed as the world is, it's still just a simulation. Ambient noise with no source, background NPCs just to be a faceless crowd, looping scenery while in a moving train just to name a few.
It sets up a great dynamic between the characters who know it's all fake and those who don't. There's a constant tension to maintain secrecy that the characters worry is going to break at any moment. Just knowing the truth makes for really interesting character moments and character development.
But I think it also highlights a really interesting question: Does it matter if the world around you is real?
Pomni struggles with this a lot in the first couple arcs. Pushing to get back to the circus despite it being an equally fake world with people that she only knew for a day.
They're real (or as close to it as you can get in the circus) but she has closer ties to a "fake" Gummy Gator and his family. She finds fulfillment and self agency in this fake world more than what would be possible under Caine's thumb.
It does a great job of leading the reader to root for her to realize that leaving isn't worth it.
Conversely the narrative being told between Abelle (the fictional map maker and the one creating the detailed world Pomni is in) and Caine adds a really interesting layer to this.
Abelle's plan is obviously flawed in a few ways and may end up causing serious damage down the line, but I can't help but root for her because it's allowing Pomni and Gummigoo a chance at a better digital life, meanwhile Caine would most likely set things stable and normal, but the dramatic irony is we know that THAT leads to a constantly tortured Pomni and pile of confetti on the ground.
Also if I can talk on the Funnygummy part a bit. I really love the pacing of their relationship. Pomni and Gummigoo trust one another pretty much right out the gate but they aren't an item for quite a while. We see glimpses of them leaning on each other emotionally throughout the story. Other characters poke fun at them about how they would make a good couple. When we finally reach the breaking point and see them actually get together, it really feels earned.
This is getting a little long. If you read all of that and haven't read it yet, I only really scratched the surface. Go give it a read, I've been thoroughly enjoying it and eagerly waiting for new chapters.
Hi! This is some artwork I did of a Hokeypoke hummingbirds, a silly little creature from the tadc fanfic Sherbert's gate by @vashonian
I absolutely love it when stories talk about in universe wildlife, and I couldn't resist drawing/writing about them once I had the idea, so enjoy the mad ramblings of someone obsessed with fantasy biology! ->
The Hokeypoke hummingbird (Dulcem Trochilus) is a species of hummingbird (named for its beautiful honeycomb toffee wings) found all over the Candy Kingdom
Although native to the majority of the Candy Kingdom, the Hokeypoke hummingbirds tend to prefer colder environments with large quantities of pixie dust flowers.
[] Description []
The Hokeypoke hummingbird is 9.5 to 11.5 cm (3.7 to 4.5 in) long and on average weighs about 5 to 5.5 g (0.18 to 0.19 oz). Adults are usually a creamy vanilla color with specs of honeycomb toffee along their backs. They have one large honeycomb on top of their head like a crown (this is why they were also called the royal hummingbird), for females, it is an orangey-yellow while males have a bright red.
[] Feeding []
Similar to other Dulcem birds, the Hokeypoke hummingbirds stick to a gummy and gelatin diet. Although their have been some reports of them eating graham crackers crumbs, whether this is a form of gastroliths to aid with digestion is currently unknown.
[] Fun fact []
Hokeypoke hummingbirds are also called the (Royal hummingbirds) Not only because of the little honeycomb on top of their head that looks like a Crown, but because in 18XX Princess [XXXXX] loved the little birds so much that she had an entire garden built into the Kingdom's castle to house them.
The garden was said to house many different subspecies of the hummingbird such as chocolate, strawberry, butterscotch, mint chocolate chip, cookie dough, and rocky road.
It's reported that one of the birds, named Cherry Cheesecake (because of its dark redish-pink crown) often followed Princess [XXXXX] all over the palace, and would peck at any one who got to close to her. ->
Sorry if this is a bit disorganized. This is my first post here on Tumbler, so I'm still getting used to the layout. With that, have a lovely day/night wherever you are!
In Sherbet's Gate, the Leporidites are one of the fastest-growing factions in Candy Canyon Kingdom following Pomni's stranding. In their eyes, Jax is some sort of savior that broke centuries of tradition and fully intended for the Fudge's rampage to be a sort of beginning for the world's rebirth, and they need to keep the momentum going.
Whatever that means - they can't even agree on how far to push the envelope. Regardless, they worship him and interpret everything to be far more deeper than it actually is. They're slowly getting more prominent over the course of the story, to the annoyance of Loo and the other characters that actually interacted with him.
While he's initially quite thrilled by having a whole swathe of a continent be his devoted followers, Jax himself eventually gets fed up with them. And of course, Loolilalu is going to do her best to stamp them out.

Chapter 36 is out at last! It's been a difficult month for me to get anything done, but it's arrived in a form that's presentable enough for me. The link is right here.
I wanted to thank everyone so far for all of the kind words and support for the story over the past year, as 2025 winds to a close. I can't wait to show off the final chapters of this part, and what's going to happen in Part 2.
Do you think we could ever see a sketch of Pomni's Gummy worm horse Trolli? The way you've described him in the fic makes him sound rather adorable.
I'm planning on it! I'm also working on an updated NPC post once Part One's done, so Trolli's part of the lineup.
I've got like one sketch of him floating on an old post last year - even though it's kinda more of a joke post where Caine possessed him to talk to Pomni.
So if there was a candy version of dysentery (but since age rating it would be vomiting yourself to death instead of sh**ing yourself to death… I assume) what would it be called? And since I’m here might as well ask some more miscellaneous questions like this one.
Are there candy pomegranates? Would they be those chocolate bar ones I’ve heard about or just chocolate covered ones the inside of a fruit?
Are the chickens marshmallows like peeps or gummy like some of the other animals? (I’m asking because we have established eggs exist or eggist if you will)
How much copyright infringement has abelle actually committed so far?
Would different kinds of candy corn (like Easter candy corn or Christmas candy corn for example) be considered different breeds of corn or different minerals entirely?
Anyways that was all the random stuff I could think of that probably had nothing to do with the plot and I just thought I would ask Excited for the next chapter!

There is a version of it - it hasn't been brought up (yet) but it's the saccharine flux - it's running off the historic name 'bloody flux' for dysentery. It's just about as you said, it's a slightly more family-friendly version of it, but still unnerving because it's been given a cutesy, glittery filter over it.
With those pomengranates, it'd probably be a mixture of both, and then there's the gummy candy flavored variety too.
Chickens are mostly marshmallow, but there's a few gummy and chocolate varieties too. Same with the crops like corn - there's some that would be considered different breeds based on their materials.
Abelle has committed quite a lot of copyright violations, intentionally or otherwise. Caine's still canonically unaware of the internet, but he definitely comes up with ideas that just skirt copyright/IP laws. Bubble and Abelle, on the other hand...
Thanks for asking!
The next chapter should be out by the beginning of next week, if all things goes well - currently working on getting the last ones finished all at once and with work being extra demanding, it's taking just a bit longer than I'd like!
