okay so immediate post-watch spoiler thoughts:
>there's no way that's the last we're seeing of Abel. Not the smiley face mannequin using his name but like, the actual Abel. We already saw Caine & Abel engraved in the gun in Ep 6 and there's basically nothing else C&A could stand for that makes sense. There has to be a real Abel we're going to meet, whether it be Kinger, Bubble, who knows
>also I am glad 'Abel' was a one-off because it seemed really weird to introduce a pivotal character that late in the show. it does seem a bit odd that Caine played the long game with having a mannequin spy on them for that long just for a single use adventure but I don't know what's going on in that man's head by this point
>oh my fucking god Caine WHAT THE FUCK?? I was afraid there was going to be a mind control twist but the realization Caine can only influence your mind just enough to make you go mad is honestly worse. not from a writing standpoint (I prefer what we actually got far better than what I was concerned about happening) but holy shit this man influenced someone to go insane and die
>I love yuri
>it's really sweet seeing how much trust Pomni has in Kinger this episode and how highly she speaks of him. you can pry the father-daughter relationship they had for three minutes over a year ago from my cold dead hands
>I found it super interesting how the process of abstracting is portrayed as almost calming. From what we had seen before it had been assumed it was super distressing and painful, but the physical process actually seems quite soothing and comforting. I think that sequence is the first time Jax looked genuinely happy in like...this entire series
>also the build-up to the drug trip sequence was super well done and incredibly unnerving. I really hope they continue leaning more into the show's horror aspects as we approach the finale
>pomni seeing the candy canyon in the snowglobe and smiling fondly my useless little funnygummy heart
>also hey what the fuck was with that car sequence? are we implying jax got in a car crash or something? is that why they made a point of showing his license plate in episode 4
>also if the argument of 'Jax was influenced to push the red button or he did it of his own volition' is the thing that Goose said will split the fandom in half I am FIRMLY on team 'he did it by himself'. I'm sure Caine played a part in how desperate and panicked he was but I still fully believe he'd press it if he was of sound mind. This man is terrified of his own humanity and desperate to stay in the little consequence-free cartoon land he built for himself, I can never imagine him willingly leaving the Circus.
>with that being said STOP MAKING ME FEEL FOR THE STUPID PURPLE RABBIT. GOD. I'M SICK OF THIS LITTLE SHIT MAKING ME FEEL THINGS
