The princesses of Etheria go all out when it comes to parties, and the one being held for the winter solstice was no exception

Entrapta obviously got an invite as a princess herself, and she decided to take you with her as her plus one

The two of you arrived together, excited to experience all the things a typical princess party had to offer- great food, dancing, and of course seeing the other princesses themselves

You, however, were most of all excited to see the lights they would have up for the party

Ever since you were younger, whenever it came to celebrating the holiday season, the lights were always your favorite part

So imagine your disappointment when there were none once you finally got there

I mean, they had lights, sure, but they were more simplistic than they were the actual statement piece

It was such a trivial thing to get upset over, but you figured if they were to go above and beyond with everything that came to the planning of the party, they would do the same with the lights

Entrapta didn’t notice you were so upset at first, as she was being her usual scatterbrain self, but when she finally did that’s all she was focused on

“Oh, wow, look at that thing over there-! Oh, no, you’re frowning, that can’t be a good sign. Is it because I stole your finger sandwiches, or is it due to something else?”

You weren’t even able to finish your sentence of why you were upset before she threw her plate of food to the side and rushed off without saying another word

‘It’s nothing,’ you thought to yourself. ‘Entrapta does stuff like that all the time, no big deal’

It soon became one, however, when you waited, and waited, and she still hadn’t returned

You felt like crying, unsure as to why she left in such a hurry

Was it something you said? Did she perhaps think you were sounding ungrateful after being chosen as her plus one?

After all, she didn’t have to bring you with her, she could’ve taken one of her robot creations instead

You returned back to her castle with a heavy heart, hoping you could just sleep off the hurt that you were feeling, until you noticed there was something off

It was quiet, too quiet

Usually there was some sort of noise that was an indication to the several robots that resided within, but there wasn’t

Until Entrapta suddenly appeared next to you with the biggest smile on her face

“Hey! I’m so glad you’re here! I have something really important to show you, now come on!”

Before you could protest or even question what was going on, she was dragging you down the hall, all the way to her lab

“Wait right here!” She commanded as she scurried off again

You did as she asked, although it wasn’t like you had much of a choice, seeing as the room was completely dark

All of a sudden, the entire room brightened all at once, causing you to cover your eyes with your hands immediately at such a bright ray of light

Once you were finally able to look again, you noticed what was making the room so bright- lights

There were lights upon lights everywhere, entire strings of them zigzagging around the lab, lighting it up with its tacky colors

For the second time that night you felt like crying, but it wasn't from sadness this time, it was from joy (that and the brightness of everything)

After dimming the lights a bit so you wouldn’t both go blind, Entrapta made her way over to you yet again, wanting to know your thoughts

You responded by giving her a gigantic hug, thanking her for the gesture and for giving you the best gift anyone could ever ask for

This was definitely your idea!

Everything with the horde had kept Catra very preoccupied and she barely ever had any time to just sit and relax, but now the war was over, and you were determined to take her out on an actual date!

"I know things have been stressful since the war ended...and since the war was in motion... okay, I know our whole lives have been very stressful!" You look at her warmly, "but...the war is over now, kitten, and...I want to do something special for you...for us..."

You end up talking her into it with your cute little face and that sweet little loving look you give her!

You do your best to keep everything a surprise, but when your girlfriend is an ex-force captain and has heightened hearing and smell...it gets kinda tricky.

"What's all the food for? Are we having people over?"

"What do you mean I can't eat it yet!?"

"You're sooo lucky you're cute."

You work through it.

When midnight comes around, well...Catra is a little less than pleased to be woken up and told to get dressed, but you promise her it'll be worth it.

You decide you wanna go the full nine yards, so you convince Catra to dress up in her red suit and you dress up in a matching fancy garb...because you're that couple.

Then you two are off!

"This better be good, princess~"

"Don't worry, kitten, I wouldn't interrupt your cat nap for nothing."

"Not. A. Cat. Nap."

But when you finally arrive at the park, you can see by the way her ears perk up and she begins to purr that she's happy.

And that was all you wanted.

So you take her hand and guide her to sit down on the picnic blanket with you.

"Gotta give it to you, princess, you sure know how to throw a surprise."

"Yeah well, it wasn't easy with you being so nosy all the time, kitten~"

"Yeah we'll, lying isn't your strong suit either, princess."

For the next hour yourself and Catra indulged in all the premade food, a lot of it being Catra's first time trying it!

You took note on how much she seemed to love the sweets you had made and mentally promised yourself to make more for her soon.

Once you two finished eating you crawled over to her and gave her lips a soft sweet kiss.

"Was everything okay, kitten?"

From the soft fond look in her multicolored eyes and her quite rumbling purrs you could guess her answer, but it was still nice hearing her say how happy you'd made her and how everything was perfect.

"You know I'mma try and one up this in the future, right princess~?" She teased you as you rested your head on her shoulders.

You giggled and between another loving kiss you shot back, "in your dreams, kitten-"

Scorpia was helping you put up some ornaments on your shared tree when she noticed how a few of them looked slightly different

It was clear that they weren’t store bought, judging from the stickers and marker scribbles on them

She curiously asked where they came from, having never seen any ornament like them before as all the ones she had were given to her by her moms, passed down from generation to generation

You told her they had been handmade by you when you were younger, and you kept them for so long because they had sentimental value

Her eyes lit up at the explanation before excitedly asking if you would teach her how to make some like the ones you had

Naturally, you said yes, causing her to squeal loudly and lift you up into a nearly bone crushing hug

You got out the materials you needed and made one of your own first to show her how to do it before handing her the stuff so she could make some of her own

Scorpia was so thrilled, she accidentally spilled the glue and tore up the paper before she could even begin

She sheepishly apologized for making a mess, to which you giggled in reply, telling her not to worry about it

After settling down some (and getting new materials) Scorpia was finally able to accomplish her goal of making a few of her own ornaments, with your help of course

It was very obvious they were handmade, but that didn’t matter to either of you

You ended up hanging them side by side on the tree, front and center, so you’d be able to think of each other everytime you looked at it

I don't wanna say it was love at first sight, but Scorpia was pretty much head over heels the moment she saw you

You were so breathtakingly gorgeous that she nearly fainted the first time you looked her way

She's very protective over you, defending you to people who have the nerve to call you any array of insults based off your looks/personality

Even if you don't always understand things right away, that's okay because Scorpia doesn't always get things either (and she's happy to help explain it if you want)

She's always gushing over you to Catra, who is honestly quite sick of it at this point lolol

Scorpia does her best to keep you safe from the many dangers in the Fright Zone because she wouldn't be able to bear it if she saw you get hurt

Now, imagine seeing Catra either at school, or maybe you're walking home, and you stop dead in your tracks. Now of course your brain tries to reason this away, "Holy shit, that's a really good Catra cosplay." You think to yourself or tell a friend.

Then when she notices you she smirks and waves you over thus making you turn bright red. As you trudged up to her nervously you hastily say, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to stare at you like that, it's just...you look exactly like Catra it's almost scary!"

She laughs mischievously and steps up to you just a bit, "Oh, you really think so?"

Her voice sends chills down your spine because, "Yeah, and you sound just like her too..."

She cocks a brow, looking at you bemusedly, her tail swaying behind her, but you still refuse to accept that she's anything but a really clever cosplayer.

Your face flushed once more as you took a step backwards and you squeek, "Okay! Have a good day! Have fun at...uh...whatever you're dressed up for or...just have fun in general-!"

But as you turn away she slides to stand in your way and wraps her tail tightly around your wrist.

The soft fur of her tail, how organically it moves, and the feather like weight to it all point you to the truth, but it's still hard to believe.

"Either you have the most suffisticated mechanical tail in existence or..."

"Finally putting it together, princess?"

The revelation hits you like a brick. Her puffy hair, bright eyes, metal headpiece, soft ears and tail, hardly noticeable tuffs of fur like hair poking through the window in her shirt and the sides of her jaw, "Catra...?"

You hear a low purr rumbling from her chest, but pull away, "No, no, no, no, that's impossible!"

For a moment, just a moment, she almost looks hurt. Weren't you happy to see her? After all she went through to get to you, why are you pushing her away?

But as she notices the way your arms wrapped around each other, and how tightly you closed your eyes, she softened. "There's no other shoe, princess..."

Your eyes snap open wide, "what...what did you say?"

She laughs lightly and gently reaches for your hand, "That's what you said you do right? When something good happens? You wait for the other shoe to drop."

Your face softened. How would she know that? It was true, of course, but only your closest friends and loved ones knew that about you. You've only ever admitted to them your fear of good things, because good things have to end right?

"There's no other shoe," she repeated again and gently pulled you closer. "I'm here, I'm with you, and I'm not going anywhere."

How else would she know? How else would she know these things about you unless, "You're...you're really Catra?"

She looked at you with a coy smile and nodded, and then, she finally got the reaction she had hoped for.

You swung your arms around her, pulling her in tightly and nuzzling your face in the crook of her neck, "How?" You whispered to her, "how are you here?"

Though the memories weren't pleasant, and it was a hard fought battle to convince Adora and Glimmer to let Catra try this, they all knew how much Catra cared about you, so they all decided to work it out together. "Portal."

You pulled back, "but...but I thought the portal didn't work? Didn't you say it didn't work and..." You rolled your eyes with a shake of your head, "and that you almost destroyed reality last time?"

She laughed nervously and rubbed the nape of her neck, "Well...sorta." You laughed, the sound warming her from within. "The princesses helped this time, and...we were finally able to make a stable one."

You pulled her in again and admitted through running tears, "There's still apart of me that's waiting to wake up, that thinks this is just a cruel joke, that you're not really here, but-"

"I am." Catra finished as she placed a soft kiss on your cheek. "I'm here princess, I'm here."
