Thirty-five year old Malachai ‘Mal’ Daecher is no stranger to trouble. “I’ve been in it most of my life,” he laughs. “It started after I graduated high school. I remember finding out that everything I thought I knew about my family was a lie. It dropped the bottom out of my life,” he acknowledges. “I kinda went off the rails, trying to figure out who and what I was. Then I found motorcycles.”

“My bike is the pride of my life, second only to my family,” he says as he gets it out of the garage and starts showing it off. “I swear the club I joined saved my life. It became the family I needed at the time I needed it the most. I’ve found everything I wanted with it,” he adds, grinning. “I met my wife in it. I’d have never thought that possible at one point and now I’ve got three kids.” He shakes his head, chuckling.

HIs efforts with his club haven’t gone unnoticed either. He’s recently been elected president of the motorcycle club he belongs to, granting him a small stipend and a large desk.

“It’s not enough though. I have a lot of ideas of what to do with the prize money if I win Big Brother,” he says, his eyes lighting up. “Most of us in the club come from very broken homes. I’d want us to get more involved in helping protect kids and other victims of abuse, you know we already know local and state authorities. It wouldn’t be too much for us to be able to reach out and protect kids that might be afraid of dealing with the law directly.”
